This 2-hour and 10-minute recording captures the final show of the seven-show run at the Royal Albert Hall in London on May 26th, part of the UK leg of their 2013 50th anniversary tour. The footage was recently made public by the owner and is in excellent quality. Shot from a camera positioned slightly to the left of the stage, the video primarily focuses on Clapton, and although there are some freezing moments, there are no obstructions, allowing viewers to enjoy the entire band’s performance until the very end. This year was a very energetic one for Clapton, with appearances in America and Europe, including at festivals such as the Crossroads Guitar Festival. Amidst many changes in the setlist at each venue, the RAH 7-day run finally reached its finale, and the night began with “Hello Old Friend,” a song not performed since the 1976 tour. Next, they performed “Gotta Get Over” from their then-released album “OLD SOCK.” The acoustic set included rare acoustic versions of “Lay Down Sally” and “Wonderful Tonight,” which they had only played three times in the seven days, as well as “Tears In Heaven,” which they had only played four times. In addition, they played “I Shot The Sheriff,” which they had only played four times, during their electric set. This setlist might have been the best of the night, and they also played the rare “Love in Vain” from “Blues Power,” and for the encore, they played “Sunshine Of Your Love.” Gary Clark Jr. made a surprise appearance once again, and the show ended with a grand finale of Paul Carrack’s “High Time We Went,” a performance befitting a finale.
