Description
This release features a nearly complete 1 hour and 33 minute recording of the opening night of the “Non-stop Go” North American tour, held on November 30th at the Universal Amphitheater in LA, following the release of his 1988 solo album “Now & Then.” The recording comes from a master audience tape owned by legendary taper Mike Millard, recently unearthed for the first time. Recorded from the original master of the Millard tapes, which have been continuously released since 2020, this is yet another previously unreleased recording that will surprise fans worldwide. Furthermore, the slightly smaller venue contributes to the superb sound quality, making it one of the top-tier Millard recordings. The setlist is particularly interesting, blending synth-driven “Now & Then” tracks with classic Led Zeppelin songs. “Going To California” and “Immigrant Song,” which was added to the set midway through the tour, are particularly quintessentially 80s arrangements, featuring heavily chorus-effected acoustic guitar and synth accompaniment. Nevertheless, tracks like “Trampled Under Foot” and “Communication Breakdown” are performed quite close to their album versions, and the opportunity to hear such rare live performances with Millard’s sound makes this collector’s edition a must-have for fans.
