Chicago / OR, USA 08.31.1995 Complete Soundboard Edition

This release features a full 1 hour and 40 minute recording of the August 31st concert in Salem, Oregon, from the 1995 North American tour accompanying the release of their big band cover album, “NIGHT & DAY BIG BAND,” using a leaked stereo soundboard master recently made public by someone involved with the band. First of all, this is a completely unreleased PA output soundboard recording, and although it is not a properly mixed recording, the horn sound that is so characteristic of Chicago explodes directly from the opening. More than anything, the fact that Chicago, who until recently had been completely focused on AOR ballads, suddenly pushed forward with a powerful horn section reminiscent of the early 70s, reviving their classic live sound, is a major highlight. The setlist also includes cover songs from the album, such as “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore,” at various points, while in the latter half, they play a string of their classic hits, starting with “Just You ‘n’ Me.” Live at L.
