Description

The Vinnie Vincent era is a hugely popular part of the KISS soundboard collection. This masterpiece has evolved into a complete full show! This release captures the “Rockford concert on December 31, 1982,” a super-powerful stereo soundboard recording. Four years after the previous release that delighted collectors worldwide, this expanded version is approximately 2 minutes and 40 seconds longer, and includes “Detroit Rock City” to the very end, which was previously cut off, making it a complete live album. Soundboard recordings from the Vinnie Vincent era are a highlight of our KISS collection. This is a good opportunity, so let’s take a look at the lineup. 1982 October 13th: “Dark Myth” released. December: Vinnie Vincent joins the band. December 30th: “SIOUX CITY 1982 SOUNDBOARD” *December 31st: Rockford performance ←★This album★ 1983 January 14th: “TORONTO 1983 SOUNDBOARD” February 11th / March 10th: “PINE BLUFF & HOUSTON 1983” March 23rd: “EL PASO 1983 SOUNDBOARD” September 18th: “Reminiscences of Hell” released. 1984 January 11th: “NASHVILLE 1984 SOUNDBOARD” January 22nd: “ALBUQUERQUE 1984 SOUNDBOARD” January 25th: “DENVER 1984 SOUNDBOARD” March 15th: “TORONTO 1984 ‘SOUNDBOARD’ [March: Vinnie Vincent leaves] A shocking soundboard recording from shortly after Vinnie joined the band. This is the complete nine-title soundboard collection from the Vinnie era. This particular recording is from the very early period, just three shows after he joined. It was also a sister soundboard album to the masterpiece ‘SIOUX CITY 1982 SOUNDBOARD’, discovered at the same time. The sound has an incredible directness, as if an amplifier were embedded inside your skull. Discovered through our own unique network of contacts, this is clearly a stereo soundboard recording made directly from the mixing console, with absolutely no treatment like that found on official live releases or FM broadcasts. The unprocessed performance sounds, meant to be spewed out from the PA system, flow in with their core intact. There is no room for recreating the concert space or adding any kind of staging, but that is precisely what makes it irresistible to jaded soundboard enthusiasts. Vinnie’s wild guitar, Gene’s crawling bass, and Paul’s hype are all unprocessed. It’s an otherworldly sense of synchronization that you can never experience on official releases. This is the definitive version, evolved into a complete full show edition. This shocking soundboard master had one drawback: it was incomplete. “Rock And Roll All Nite” and “Detroit Rock City” from the end of the show were not recorded. Someone involved through their own channels was also concerned about this and tried to fill it in with an audience recording from the same day, but it was still insufficient. The latter half of “Detroit Rock City” was missing. This time, we have independently filled in that part as well. The recording is about 2 minutes and 40 seconds longer than before, and “Detroit Rock City” is played completely to the finale. It includes Paul’s final shout of “We love you!”, making it a genuine, complete full show edition. The extremely rare track “Rock And Roll Hell” is also included in this delicious full set. And this complete set is the biggest point of this release. After all, this show was the third performance immediately after Vinnie joined the band. The standard tracks from “CREATURES OF THE NIGHT” hadn’t even been decided yet, and they performed extremely rare tracks that were quickly dropped from the set. The performance is full of the energy of a strong start. Let’s summarize the contents here. CREATURES OF THE NIGHT (5 songs) – Creatures of the Night / I Love It Loud / War Machine / Rock And Roll Hell (★) / I Still Love You 70s Classics (11 songs) – KISS: Strutter / Firehouse / Cold Gin / Black Diamond – DESTROYER: Shout It Out Loud / God Of Thunder / Detroit Rock City (**) – Others: Rock And Roll All Nite (*) / Calling Dr. Love / I Want You / Love Gun *Note: “★” marks songs that are extremely rare and only played at the beginning of the tour. “*” marks songs that have been supplemented with audience recordings. “**” marks songs that have been extended in length. …and so on. The biggest highlight is “Rock and Roll Hell”. This is an extremely rare song that was only performed at the first three shows of the tour and then sealed away for 34 years (and even when it was revived in 2016, it was only played a few times at KISS Kruise). Of course, the thrill of having the energy of “80s potential + Vinnie” poured into your brain is priceless. This is a new definitive edition of the superb soundboard album that shocked the world when it first appeared in 2022, now revived as a complete full show version. This is a soundboard CD directly connected to the mixing console from the 1982 New Year’s Eve show, only the third show with Vinnie Vincent. A super powerful stereo soundboard of Vinnie Vincent’s third show, the “December 31, 1982 Rockford concert”. Approximately 2 minutes and 40 seconds longer than the old release ‘Zodiac 530’, this is a complete full show version that includes the ending of “Detroit Rock City”. This is the definitive edition that allows you to fully experience the delicious New Year’s Eve stage, including the extremely rare song “Rock And Roll Hell”.
