Description
A rare recording has emerged of a Bristol concert held shortly after the release of their fifth album, “The Gospel According to the Meninblack,” captured in high-quality stereo audience recording! This rare recording captures the first night of their tour, held on February 9, 1981, the day of the release of their fifth album, “The Gospel According to the Meninblack,” in Bristol Locarno, England, in high-quality stereo audience recording! Remastered from a low-generation master, it boasts a wide range, depth, and excellent balance, resulting in a clear sound quality that is considered top-class for its time. Killer Eye delivered a dense and powerful performance, featuring five songs from their previous album “THE RAVEN,” including “Don’t Bring Harry,” which was only played on this tour; five songs from their then-new album “The Gospel According to the Meninblack,” which reached number 8 on the US album charts, including the lead single “Thrown Away”; and the unreleased single “Who Wants The World?”. In “Don’t Bring Harry,” which was removed from the setlist for subsequent tours, Jean-Jacques’ vocals cut out midway through, and the audience began singing along, creating a moment of commotion among the audience, which seemed like an accident due to equipment trouble (?).
