This release features a full 2-hour and 2-minute recording of the December 2nd Seattle show from the North American tour following the release of 1983’s “Speaking in Tongues,” sourced from an audience master recording of miraculously high quality for its time, recently released by a taper. While the famous “Stop Making Sense” also exists from this tour, this is a different performance, and ultimately, it marks the band’s final tour. Moreover, this recording captures the entire show from an already precious tour with an unprecedented sound quality for a cassette recording of that era, surpassing soundboard quality and rivaling the official “Stop Making Sense” as an official bootleg. Furthermore, while the official release has undergone some editing and revisions, this is a 100% pure live recording, and it also includes tracks not found on the official release, such as “Houses in Motion,” “Big Blue Plymouth (Eyes Wide Open),” “The Book I Read,” and “Love / Building on Fire.” The first set, which starts with “Psycho Killer,” follows the same progression as the movie, and the thrilling and funky development as the performance heats up from the middle to the end of the second set is definitely worth listening to. In addition, with Bernie Worrell joining the band, they have completely established a percussive and danceable live style, making this a must-have collector’s edition for fans.
