All four of their 2026 Japan tour dates, their first in eight years, were sold out. This release couples the first show, held on February 6th at Tokyo Garden Theater, with the best quality audio and video. The CD perfectly captures the roaring storm of sound from beginning to end without any distortion. The final song, “You Made Me Realise,” in particular, has even higher sound pressure than before, and the 7 minutes in which the band’s sound becomes a peak of noise, shaking the audience and the venue, is faithfully reproduced. The DVD, on the other hand, is a 115-minute recording of the full live performance, filmed with a digital camera from the front row of the arena standing area. The camera angle perfectly captures all the band members on stage and the back screen effects from a diagonal angle from Belinda Butcher’s side, with almost no obstructions, allowing viewers to experience the sound, which is integrated with the lighting and visuals, in even greater detail. During this Japan tour, there were some issues, such as equipment trouble on the first day in Osaka and the fact that the sound didn’t project as well as it could at other venues due to the hall’s acoustics. However, I can confidently say that the sound at the Garden Theater was the best of the tour. The setlist also summarized their career, centering on 6 songs from ‘LOVELESS’ and 4 songs from ‘MBV’, and including singles not included on any albums. Incidentally, “Who Sees You” from ‘MBV’ was listed on the setlist sheet on stage at the Osaka show but wasn’t played, so it was only actually performed at the Tokyo show. The video also shows scenes such as Kevin Shields changing Fender Jaguar guitars almost every song, and stopping the band to restart three times during “Feed Me With Your Kiss,” making this a limited-edition memorial item from their Japan tour that realistically recreates that roaring live performance in sound and video.
