Description
This release features a full 1 hour and 24 minute recording of the first show of their 2026 Japan tour, which aimed to recreate the setlist from their legendary “ASIA IN ASIA” concert, specifically the first show on February 8th in Tokyo, captured from a high-quality audience master recording released by the taper. The tour, a continuation of their previous year’s visit, consisted of 10 shows in total, with two shows per day for five days. This recording captures the seventh show in soundboard-level quality. Now, 43 years after their legendary first visit in 1983, they return to Japan with the same flow and structure. Harry Whitley’s vocals, reminiscent of John Wetton, have been particularly praised, showing even further evolution from the previous year. Furthermore, as part of the “ASIA IN ASIA” recreation, they performed “Eye To Eye” and “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes,” songs not included in the previous year’s setlist. Most notably, this show is the only one in the entire Japanese tour where they played “Daylight” instead of the otherwise fixed encore “Video Killed The Radio Star,” making it a truly memorable performance. This arrangement is closer to a faithful recreation of “ASIA IN ASIA,” making it a must-have memorial item for fans familiar with the original Asia, available only during their Japan tour.
