David Sylvian Robert Fripp / Tokyo, Japan 1993 Japanese Laser Disc Remastered Edition

This 1 hour and 26 minute recording captures the final day of their second tour of Japan in 1993, following the release of their duo album “THE FIRST DAY,” at Nakano Sun Plaza in Tokyo on October 26th. The footage is in best quality and professionally shot. This live performance was originally released as the official video “LIVE IN JAPAN” on VHS and LaserDisc, but quickly went out of print and was never officially released on DVD. However, this title is a DVD created by an overseas fan using the latest equipment from the best quality existing Japanese LaserDisc, and has been digitally remastered, making it the first time it is being released in HD quality throughout. This short-lived collaboration between the two includes all the songs from the album except “Bringing Down the Light,” as well as “Blinding Light Of Heaven,” which was not included on the album but was later included on the compilation “EVERYTHING AND NOTHING,” and three songs from Sylvian’s “Gone to Earth.” Furthermore, they played “Every Colour You Are” from “RAIN TREE CROW” and even Fripp’s “Exposure,” a rare track that wasn’t even included on the official “DAMAGE: LIVE” album. It’s also interesting that the band included Trey Gunn and Pat Mastelotto, who would later become core members of the reformed King Crimson, making this Japan performance a valuable record of their journey towards becoming a double trio King Crimson, and it’s now available here in official quality video.
