A rare recording has emerged, capturing the entirety of the Modena, Italy concert from the 1981 tour that took place immediately after the release of their fourth album, “Juju,” in high-quality stereo audience recording! This is a rare recording of the live performance held on June 24, 1981, at the Palazzetto dello Sport in Modena, Italy, immediately following the release of the highly acclaimed fourth album “Juju,” which featured former Slits drummer Budgie and former Magazine guitarist John McGough. Recorded from a low-generation cassette master, the stereo sound is clear and wide-ranging, with well-balanced vocals and other parts, resulting in a clear sound quality that is considered top-class for its time. At the second of two consecutive shows in Modena, the setlist included seven songs from their then-new album “juju,” “But Not Them” (which was included on an EP by The Creatures, featuring Siouxsie and Budgie, released that same year), and “Christine” (a single from their previous album “KALEIDOSCOPE”). McGough’s guitar produced a sharp, hard sound, Budgie and Stephen laid down an almost magical rhythm, and Siouxsie’s vocals resonated throughout, creating a truly superb performance!
