Description
A rare recording has emerged from the US tour following the release of their fourth album, “THE RAVEN,” featuring a California performance captured in excellent stereo audience recording quality! This rare recording captures a live performance held on November 14, 1980, at the Keystone Palo Alto club in California, during the US tour supporting their masterpiece “The Raven,” released in September 1979, after their legendary first performance in Japan. Recorded from a low-generation cassette master, the sound quality is quite good for its time, with a well-balanced and stable sound for all parts, including the vocals. Furthermore, pitch deviations caused by the master have been carefully corrected. The setlist includes six songs from the then-new album “The Raven,” including the opening number “Shah Shah A Go Go,” as well as their latest single at the time, “Who Wants The World?”, and also features “Just Like Nothing On Earth,” which would be included on their fifth album, “THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO THE MENINBLACK,” released the following year. This release captures the infamous incident in mid-June when a power outage at their Nice concert led to the band’s imprisonment in France for allegedly inciting riots, the recording of ‘THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO THE MENINBLACK’ that took place amidst all of that, and the superb performances from the final stages of their US tour that began in October!
