Description
The miraculous “CRAZY Tour,” hailed as “QUEEN’s greatest tour ever” and “the pinnacle of their career,” has been revived with a newly unearthed upgraded master of the narrator’s recordings that captured the atmosphere of the event! Furthermore, a top-of-the-line updated version, featuring meticulous mastering by “GRAF ZEPPELIN,” is set to be released!! This release permanently preserves the “Newcastle performance on December 4, 1979,” a masterpiece audience recording. 1979 is also memorable as the year of their Japan tour, and the official classic album “LIVE KILLERS” was created. However, those were the “JAZZ Tour,” different from the “CRAZY Tour” of this release. As this is the first release in a long time, let’s first explore the position of this release by looking at an overview of their activities at the time. 1978 “JAZZ Tour” – October 28th – December 20th: North America (35 shows) 1979 – January 17th – March 1st: Europe (28 shows) ← *LIVE KILLER – April 13th – May 6th: Japan (15 shows) 《June: Production of “THE GAME” begins》 – August 18th: Performed at SAARBRUCKEN OPEN AIR 《October 5th: Single “Crazy Little Thing…” released》 “CRAZY Tour” – November 22nd – December 26th: UK (20 shows) ← ★HERE★ This is the overall picture of the “JAZZ Tour” and “CRAZY Tour”. The “JAZZ Tour” ended with the Japanese performances, after which production of the next album, “THE GAME”, began. The album was released the following year, 1980, but the tour accompanying the preceding single “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” was the “CRAZY Tour”. This tour is known as a miraculous season where every night was a masterpiece, and we have archived as many masterpieces as possible in our store. Let’s organize the schedule further here. Details of “UK (“CRAZY Tour”)” – November 22nd-30th (6 performances) * December 1st “GLASGOW 1979 2ND NIGHT” * December 3rd “NEWCASTLE 1979 1ST NIGHT” * December 4th: Newcastle performance ←★This work★ * December 6th “LIVERPOOL 1979 1ST NIGHT” – December 7th-22nd (10 performances) * December 26th “HAMMERSMITH ODEON 1979” Newly unearthed upgraded master of the younger generation…and so on. The “Newcastle 2nd night” is known for having been recorded before, and has been familiar to our customers on CD-R discs and other formats. This album, while using the same recording, features a recently unearthed, younger-generation master. The sound is remarkably fresh. While the original master clearly had a good recording quality, it undeniably suffered from rough overdubs and a near-deafening quality. However, this new master is several generations younger, with almost no roughness. Since detailed generation information isn’t available, this is based on auditory perception, but the original master was roughly a “3rd/4th generation.” In contrast, this new master is an upgrade to something like the “original/1st generation.” That alone makes it a must-have for permanent preservation, but this album is also a further refined version, polished with “GRAF ZEPPELIN” mastering. The pitch and phase correction are precise, not allowing even a 1/1000th of a second deviation, and the balance has been adjusted after frequency analysis, along with various noise treatments. As always, it’s a further upgraded sound that maximizes the potential hidden within the original recording. Experience the full atmosphere of QUEEN’s peak, the “CRAZY Tour.” This treasured sound, with its improved generation and polish, depicts the full show of the “CRAZY Tour,” hailed as a miracle. The setlist has changed from the “JAZZ Tour,” and new songs from “THE GAME” have been incorporated. Here, let’s organize the information by comparing it with the traditional “JAZZ Tour” album “LIVE KILLERS” and the iconic “CRAZY Tour” album “HAMMERSMITH ODEON 1979: 2022 TRANSFER.” A Night at the Opera (6 songs) – Death On Two Legs / I’m In Love With My Car / You’re My Best Friend / Love Of My Life / ’39 / Bohemian Rhapsody Dedicated to the World (6 songs) – We Will Rock You (fast) / Get Down Make Love / Spread Your Wings / Sheer Heart Attack / We Will Rock You / We Are The Champions Others (12 songs) – Jazz: Let Me Entertain You / Mustapha (★) / Don’t Stop Me Now – Others: Jailhouse Rock (★) / Somebody To Love (★) / Killer Queen / Save Me (★) / Now I’m Here / Keep Yourself Alive / Liar (★★) / Crazy Little Thing Called Love (★) / Tie Your Mother Down *Note: Songs marked with “★” were not included on the official traditional album ‘LIVE KILLERS’. The songs marked with “★★” are tracks not even heard on ‘HAMMERSMITH ODEON 1979’, the iconic album of the “CRAZY Tour”. New songs “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” and “Save Me” are performed, but that’s not all. It’s the oldest recorded instance of “Jailhouse Rock” opening the show, and “Liar,” which was only performed a handful of times in 1979, also makes an appearance. And Freddie’s performance of “Liar” is incredible. He’s in top form, and his voice is flowing effortlessly. He hits astonishing high notes on “’39,” and his renditions of “Don’t Stop Me Now” and “Spread Your Wings” are exceptionally beautiful, and “Bohemian Rhapsody” is perfect. He seems so happy that his voice is flowing as he pleases, and his energy level is through the roof. His passionate rendition of “We Are The Champions” is absolutely captivating. It’s truly a miracle. There may be other nights of brilliant performances, but nothing else quite like the “CRAZY Tour,” where every single night is consistently outstanding. This album is a cultural heritage that allows you to witness that miraculous event. A newly discovered, early-generation master, polished by “GRAF ZEPPELIN,” makes this a new masterpiece. The disc changes this time (the disc changes at the cut points). Although it uses the same source as the previously released version, the master level is astonishing! While it is a mono audience recording, the sound quality is vastly improved, and if the previously released CDR was 3rd or 4th generation, this one is probably the original master or even 1st generation. The freshness is superb, and the sound is rich and full, encompassing everything from high to low frequencies! There are no issues with sound bias or volume differences, so you can enjoy it stress-free from beginning to end! A masterpiece audience recording of the “Newcastle performance on December 4, 1979.” This is an upgraded version using an early-generation master that was recently discovered, with almost no dubbing marks, making it remarkably fresh. Furthermore, this album is a meticulously crafted remastered version that maximizes the potential of the original sound, thanks to the “GRAF ZEPPELIN” mastering. It opens with “Jailhouse Rock” and includes a rare performance of “Liar” from 1979. This new masterpiece allows you to fully experience the miraculous “CRAZY Tour” where Freddie Mercury is in top form. City Hall, Newcastle, UK 4 December 1979 TRULY PERFECT SOUND UPGRADE!!!
