This release features a full 1 hour and 37 minute recording of Clapton’s March 8th performance in Laurie during his 2010 North American tour, taken from a newly released stereo audience DAT master. This is the first time this recording has ever been released, and because it’s a direct recording from a superb quality DAT recording, everything from the band sound to the vocals is incredibly clear. In addition to joint tours with Jeff Beck and Steve Winwood that year, he also hosted the “Crossroads Guitar Festival” and went on solo tours, showing just how energetic he was. A major point of interest in this solo tour is that Clapton was the only guitarist. The unique opening of this tour, “Going Down Slow,” is seamlessly transitioned into a medley-like sequence leading into “Key To The Highway,” a fascinating arrangement. Following that, there’s the phenomenal solo in “Old Love,” the rare acoustic performance of “I’ve Got A Rock N Roll Heart,” and yet another stunning solo in “Little Queen of Spades,” showcasing his relentless, sharp guitar playing at every turn.
