Prince/Diamonds and Pearls 1991 Configuration Vol.2

This release features a remaster of Prince’s classic Diamonds and Pearls, a second configuration supposedly made in December 1990. It’s based on a remaster of the alternate version, featuring effects and Rosie’s vocals, but also includes the leaked Diamonds and Love in its highest-quality FLAC format. The opening track is not “Thunder,” but an alternate version of “Daddy Pop.” Thunder was made in mid- to late January 1991, so it wasn’t included on the December 1990 configuration. “Walk Don’t Walk” is an alternate version, but with the pitch corrected. “Schoolyard” is a longer version based on the Diamonds and Love mix. While there are no alternate versions of “Strollin’,” we’ve included the first configuration, which has a sharper mix. Willing And Able features an alternate version with the intro from Joyful Sound, Diamonds And Pearls is a longer version mixed from Diamonds And Love, and Insatiable is an early mix of Diamonds And Love. Money Don’t Matter 2 Night doesn’t have any alternate versions, but it does include the first configuration version. Horny Pony is an alternate version. Live 4 Love features an early mix from Diamonds And Love. Something Funky is the version featuring Rosie. Call The Law features the version featured on Gold Nigga. Finally, The Flow features the original version, said to be from September 11, 1990.
