Description

This rare recording features a high-quality stereo audience recording of a live performance in Newcastle, England, held in 1984, just after the release of their fifth album, “Two Steps from the Move.” This rare recording features a high-quality stereo audience recording of a live performance in Newcastle, Northeast England, on June 8, 1984, from the European tour immediately following the release of their final album, “Two Steps from the Move.” The vocals are prominent and well-balanced, resulting in a wide, clear sound quality that is considered top-notch for the time. The setlist begins with the opening track, “Two Steps from the Move,” which is the album title but never appeared on the album. Enjoy a powerful performance, played without pause, as the setlist features tracks from their major label debut, “Two Steps from the Move,” including a cover of the CCR single “Up Around the Bend” and “Underwater World,” also released as a single. In the second half, they cover the Stooges’ “I Feel Alright” and the Yardbirds’ classic “Train Kept A Rollin’,” as well as the rare, non-album-exclusive “In The Year ’79 (It’s Too Late).” The final track, “Self Destruction Blues,” features Michael on vocals and harp, accompanied by two acoustic guitars using slide bars. This is a truly epic performance. Mayfair, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK, June 8, 1984 (Disc 1) 01. Two Steps From The Move 02. Back To Mystery City 03. Cutting Corners 04. Visitor 05. Underwater World 06.
