Description

The latest installment in the soundboard series reveals the truth behind the masterpiece “ALIVE!”. A treasured CD not available in the official Super Deluxe Edition is now available! This work is carved into three superb soundboards. It combines the “June 21, 1975 Cleveland performance (6 songs + solo),” the “July 20, 1975 Davenport performance (4 songs + jam),” and the “remix tracks (3 songs).” If you’ve read this article, you may be aware that original “ALIVE!” soundboards have been appearing one after another recently. This work is one of those original soundboards. To understand the situation, let’s first check the recording date of “ALIVE!” on the schedule at the time. “HOTTER THAN HELL Tour” January 7th – February 22nd (14 shows) ← *SAN FRANCISCO JANUARY 1975 “DRESSED TO KILL Tour” March 19th – May 11th (28 shows) *May 16th “DEFINITIVE DETROIT 1975” (ALIVE! recording date) May 17th – June 7th (12 shows) *June 13th “TULSA 1975 SOUNDBOARD” June 14th – 20th (4 shows) *June 21st: Cleveland (ALIVE! recording date) ← ★First half of this work★ June 22nd – July 5th (6 shows) *July 20th: Davenport (ALIVE! recording date) ← ★Second half of this work★ *July 23rd “DEFINITIVE WILDWOOD “ALIVE! 1975” (ALIVE! recording date) August 2nd-28th (10 performances) “ALIVE! Tour” September 10th-December 31st (50 performances) ← *LANDOVER 1975 This is KISS in 1975. Of the four performances that formed the basis of “ALIVE!”, two were released as “DEFINITIVE DETROIT 1975” and “DEFINITIVE WILDWOOD 1975.” This is the third installment following those two masterpieces. However, this is not a full soundboard of the two performances. Let’s introduce each one individually. The first half of this work is the “Cleveland Performance on June 21st, 1975” (Cleveland Performance). Last year, the “ALIVE!” 50th Anniversary Box Set became a hot topic, and two songs were added to the superb soundboard included there. First, the part that was also included in the official box set. This approximately 28-minute set includes four tracks, an Ace solo, and a Chris solo. According to the importer’s documentation, this is a master that, like “DEFINITIVE DETROIT 1975” and “DEFINITIVE WILDWOOD 1975,” was leaked during the production process of the official box set. It certainly boasts official-grade quality, rivaling the official box set. “100,000 Years” in particular is a take that was also included on “ALIVE!”, and this is an expanded master. While the official box set only included the above, this release adds two more tracks: “Let Me Know” and “Rock and Roll All Nite.” These two tracks are broadcast versions of “King Biscuit Flower Hour,” and when combined with the official box set, this completes the entire release. “Rock and Roll All Nite” in particular is a performance that was featured on “ALIVE!”. Following is the sound check from the Davenport concert (four tracks plus a jam), followed by the Davenport concert the following month. However, this is not a live performance, but rather a soundcheck recording of “Rock Bottom” and “Watchin’ You,” which were featured on “ALIVE!”. It’s an expanded master recording of approximately 20 minutes, featuring two additional tracks, “Room Service” and “Strange Ways,” and additional jams. This is also a master recording leaked during the production of the official box set, making it completely official. The quality and length are nearly identical to the original box set. The final section of the three remix tracks released in 1996 is a remix track from “YOU WANTED THE BEST, YOU GOT THE BEST!!.” All three tracks are outtakes originally produced for “ALIVE!” but never released. Although released in 1996, the instrumentation and vocals are taken from the 1975 recordings. The three tracks were recorded on different dates; “Room Service” is from the same Davenport soundcheck as above, while “Two Timer” and “Let Me Know” are from a Cleveland performance (which also included a May 16th public address in Detroit). This is a stereo soundboard recording spanning 1 hour, 6 minutes, and 16 seconds. These are all extended masters and outtakes from the “ALIVE!” concerts, ensuring a permanent preservation of the highest quality, fully official masters. A must-have addition to the “ALIVE! Collection” following “DEFINITIVE DETROIT 1975” and “DEFINITIVE WILDWOOD 1975,” this convenient album offers a comprehensive overview of rare “ALIVE!” tracks previously found in official box sets, best-of albums, and FM broadcasts. This is a must-listen live album for anyone wanting to deeply appreciate this historic masterpiece. This stereo soundboard recording features the “June 21, 1975 Cleveland concert” and the “July 20, 1975 Davenport concert.” This master, leaked during the production of the “ALIVE!” 50th Anniversary box set, offers unparalleled quality, rivaling the official releases. In particular, the Cleveland performance includes two additional tracks not included in the official box set, plus remix tracks from “YOU WANTED THE BEST, YOU GOT THE BEST!!” This is a must-have album for the “ALIVE! Collection.” Music Hall, Cleveland, OH, USA 21st June 1975 1. She 2. Ace Frehley Guitar Solo 3. Nothin’ To Lose 4. C’mon And Love Me 5. 100,000 Years 6. Drum Solo / 100,000 Years 7. Let Me Know 8.
