The 1997 North American tour accompanying the release of “OK COMPUTER” features a 1 hour and 52 minute recording of the December 19th New York show, newly remastered in 2025. While a soundboard recording of this live performance originally aired as part of MTV’s Christmas special, the original broadcast was incomplete due to cuts to certain tracks due to commercial breaks. This release utilizes the master soundboard recording and complements cuts like “Talk Show Host” and “Climbing Up the Walls” with high-quality audience recordings from the same day, ensuring a complete recording. The setlist is simply superb, making this a fitting culmination of the “OK COMPUTER” tour. The opening track, “Fitter Happier,” captures the atmosphere perfectly, capturing the audience’s excitement as they realize the show is about to begin, amidst the ethereal, mechanical voices echoing through the venue. The two encores towards the end of the show, which included “Let Down,” “Street Spirit (Fade Out),” “Electioneering,” “(Nice Dream),” and “The Tourist,” were a mix of songs from “OK COMPUTER” and their previous album, “THE BENDS,” providing a truly outstanding performance of the highest quality, perfect for this period.
