Description

The Black Cats, a three-piece band with a black rhythm section from the recording of “QUE SERA SERA,” have released a rare live recording in Scotland, this time in excellent stereo audience quality! In early 1984, after a period of intense activity with the release of the album “Hurt Me,” remixes of “L.A.M.F.”, and a Heartbreakers reunion gig, the band underwent a complete reshuffle. The Black Cats, now a three-piece band with the black rhythm section from the recording of “QUE SERA SERA,” Keith Yung and Tony St. Helen, joined them. This rare recording features a high-quality stereo audience quality recording of a live performance at Carey’s Palace in Edinburgh, Scotland, on October 18, 1984. Henry Paul, who usually accompanied Hanoi Rocks on their first Japan tour, played side guitar, but he was absent on this performance. The recording begins with the opening sound effects from “The Man with the Golden Arm,” and features a wide range and excellent balance of each part, resulting in a clear sound quality that is considered top-notch for the time. The recording features a balanced sound that allows Johnny’s guitar to resonate comfortably! Any pitch imperfections caused by the master recording have been carefully corrected. Johnny is in excellent condition, and the setlist features tracks from “QUE SERA SERA” such as “Alone In A Crowd” and “Little Bit Of Whore.” He also covers Otis Redding’s “Don’t Mess With Cupid,” a track he’s been playing since his Dolls days, and “Copy Cats,” a track recorded back in the day but not included on “QUE SERA SERA.” Enjoy this incredible performance!
