Finally, finally, the day has come when this recording can be preserved forever! The legendary recording, which gained fame for its “super rare songs + super thick sound,” has received a shocking upgrade. The masterpiece of the “PARANOID Tour” audience, born from mastering, has been decided to be released! This work is engraved with the “January 14, 1971 Sheffield” performance. It is the finest audience recording. There are three main points about this work. The first is that “you can listen to two super rare songs,” the second is “the strongest sound of the PARANOID Tour,” and the third is “GRAF ZEPPELIN mastering with the highest peak update.” First, let’s take a bird’s-eye view of the activities at the time to introduce the “super rare songs” that are attracting attention. 1970 “BLACK SABBATH Tour” ・January 3rd – September 5th: Europe #1 (113 shows) ←※MONTREUX 1970 etc. “PARANOID Tour” ・September 11th – October 26th: Europe #2 (24 shows) ←※BRUSSELS 1970 ・October 30th – November 27th: North America #1 (40 shows) ←※PORTLAND 1970 ・December 5th – 20th: Europe #3 (7 shows) ←※COPENHAGEN 1970 ●1971 *January 7th – 23rd: Europe #4 (11 shows) ←★Coco★ ・January 31st: MYPONGA OPEN AIR appearance ・February 6th + 7th: Netherlands (2 shows) ・February 17th – April 4th: North America #2 (41 shows) ←※INTO THE VOID 1971 · April 15-26: Europe #5 (10 shows) ← ※ ETERNAL VOID OF DOOM “MASTER OF REALITY Tour” · July 2-August 17: North America #3 (30 shows) ← ※ BEGGARS’ BANQUET DANCE · September 4-7: Europe #6 (3 shows) · September 18-October 23: North America #4 (27 shows) ← ※ MASTER OF WINTERLAND etc. · December 3-6: Europe #7 (3 shows) Extremely rare “Into The Void / After Forever” best recording This is BLACK SABBATH from 1970/1971. Generally, 1971 is thought of as the “year of MASTER OF REALITY,” but this work was still the “PARANOID Tour.” It was the fifth concert of “Europe #4.” This timing was crucial, as they began playing the unfinished “MASTER OF REALITY” tracks. These were the extremely rare “Into the Void” and “After Forever.” While both tracks were performed numerous times after the reunion, they were only heard a handful of times in the ’70s (five times for “Into the Void” and three for “After Forever”). Furthermore, these tracks feature early versions of the temporary lyrics. This is the best recording of both tracks—or, even ignoring the rarities, it’s the strongest recording of the “PARANOID Tour.” The power of the sound is unparalleled, with both the vocals and the performance reaching you without any sense of distance. Moreover, there’s no over-peaking or harshness that’s typical of audience recordings from that time. Upgraded sound achieved through meticulous mastering. Despite these renowned recordings, there’s a reason we haven’t stocked them in our shop until now: the battery ran out toward the end of the show. This wasn’t due to dubbing or tape deterioration, but rather a recording issue. The distortion began around “Wicked World,” and then became spectacularly distorted on “Fairies Wear Boots” and “Paranoid.” This dilemma prevented the release format from being decided. This latest release finally overcomes these long-standing shortcomings with a top-notch update. Graf Zeppelin’s mastering thoroughly corrected the distortion, achieving a level of perfection worthy of a permanently archived CD press. Those familiar with the previous masters will be amazed at its quality. “Wicked World” is stable, as if there was no distortion from the start, and the once-unbearable “Fairies Wear Boots” and “Paranoid” are transformed into something completely different. While some distortion may be present, the only way to achieve even greater precision would be to create them from scratch using generative AI… and this is the ultimate modern finish. A new champion renewing the pinnacle of the PARANOID Tour. This legendary recording is truly “the best and most powerful audience recording of the PARANOID Tour.” We’ve been introducing our top picks from each tour of the 1970s as “Eight Greatest Audience Recordings,” and this work is the new champion, renewing the pinnacle of the “PARANOID Tour.” Let’s take a look at the “eight selections” here. The eight best audience recordings from the 1970s: 1st era “DEFINITIVE LAUSANNE 1970,” 2nd era “DEFINITIVE SHEFFIELD 1971” (this work), 3rd era “BEGGARS’ BANQUET DANCE 1971,” 4th era “BRESCIA 1973,” 5th era “DEFINITIVE PROVIDENCE 1974,” 6th era “DEFINITIVE LONG BEACH 1975,” 7th era “COMPLETE FRESNO 1976,” and 8th era “DEFINITIVE FRESNO 1978.” These are the best audience recordings from each tour, corresponding to eight albums. While the soundboards don’t provide a complete tour, the audience recordings allow you to trace the entire tour with full live albums. In other words, the above eight works are an essential collection for learning about Black Sabbath in the 1970s. This is the crown jewel of the “Master of Reality Tour.” It’s the best recording of early versions of the extremely rare tracks “Into the Void” and “After Forever,” and the ultimate live album of the “PARANOID Tour.” The album overcomes its only flaw with GRAF ZEPPELIN mastering. The gap between tracks has been corrected. This is a superb audience recording of the January 14, 1971, Sheffield performance, which sounds excellent for 1971. This legendary, thick recording, with its only flaw, the crease at the end, was corrected with GRAF ZEPPELIN’s meticulous mastering. This is the ultimate audience album of the “PARANOID Tour,” featuring extremely rare early versions of “Into The Void” and “After Forever.” Sheffield City Hall, Sheffield, UK 14th January 1971 TRULY PERFECT SOUND (60:32) 1.
