Description
Since their classic duo album “Crystal Silence,” the two have collaborated on numerous albums, including “Duet” and “In Concert Zurich.” This 73-minute recording features a live performance at the Blue Note in New York on March 31, 1988, captured via soundboard recording from a recently unearthed broadcast master. The master, which had some hiss, has been remastered and inter-song speech has been removed for a smoother listening experience. Starting with Steve Swallow’s “Falling Grace,” the album moves on to the fan-familiar “Senor Mouse,” a newly arranged duo version of “Children’s Song” with Burton, and finally concludes with the long-standing classic “La Fiesta.” The intimate atmosphere of the jazz club makes this tense yet harmonious gig a must-listen for fans of both artists.
