Each accomplished musician, this trio performance transcends traditional jazz conventions to create music for a new generation of music lovers. The concert features Pete, acclaimed for his unique technique, constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with his guitar. He leads the band with his dexterous playing, utilizing a variety of effects to create a diverse approach from cleaner to fuzzier sounds. He also leads the groove, utilizing his renowned mic and solo skills. Known for his work with Yes, King Crimson, Genesis, National Health, UK, and Earthworks, Bruford frequently employs odd time signatures, including 5/4, to create something new that transcends jazz, making the five-year gap in his performance seem imperceptible. The tracks range from Ross’s crazy chords on “Full Circle,” Charlie Parker’s “Billy’s Bounce,” a Dvorak piece, and the multi-part suite “Looking Forward to Looking Back,” with its progressive rock vibes.
