Rolling Stones/Steel Wheels Japan Tour 1990 Japanese Promo Edition

This is a reprint of the “phantom” Japanese 2-CD “STEEL WHEELS JAPAN TOUR” that was released by the record company as a promotion-only release before their first performance in Japan in February 1990. As you can see from the record number “XDDP93034~5”, it is a lower number than the promo CD “THE PLEASURE OF PAIN” (XDDP93082~3) released at the same time, so it is assumed to have been produced slightly earlier. “THE PLEASURE OF PAIN” is rare, but this “STEEL WHEELS JAPAN TOUR” is even rarer. It was not easily available due to limited distribution (according to enthusiasts), and it has become a collector’s item that is difficult to even see in person now. The contents are a reproduction of the early set of the 1989 “STEEL WHEEL North American Tour” with tracks from the studio version and the two live albums “STILL LIFE” and “LOVE YOU LIVE”. Since the original is an official release, you can easily imagine the song list, but there must be very few fans who have actually played and enjoyed this CD, so this is a good opportunity to play and confirm what this CD is and what intention it was made with. (The live tracks have been faded in a unique way, and the volume of the entire track seems to have been equalized.) One of the points is that the set was made to imitate the early North American tour set, so it includes Shattered, One Hit, and Undercover of the Night, which were not performed in Japan. Also, when this CD was released, the additional performance on February 19th was not listed as a date for the Japan tour, which gives a nostalgic atmosphere of the time and is a nice touch. It’s also fun to listen to this album and recall the real memories of 30 years ago, when Stones fans were at their most passionate.
