Description
Roger Waters achieved unprecedented success with “THE WALL TOUR” from 2010 to 2013, and is about to create a sensation around the world in 2015 with the film adaptation of it. Introducing a live album that contains the best audience recording of a stage unrelated to the concept that he performed for the first time in a while. This work was recorded at the “Newport Folk Festival on July 24, 2015.” Along with the Newport Jazz Festival, it is a legendary festival that has created many legends even before the birth of rock. In the latter half of the stage of MY MOURNING JACKET, who appeared on the latest stage, Roger appeared with his partner G.E. Smith. Backing Roger is MY MOURNING JACKET, G.E., and a backing chorus. Roger was surrounded by the respect of the performers, and with an acoustic guitar in hand, he performed a carefree stage performance that was freed from the heavy concept of “THE WALL.” I have performed in public since “THE WALL TOUR”, but it’s been a while since I last had a show that lasted more than an hour. There’s a lot to like about this work, but it’s an epic right from the beginning. They will be performing their new song “Crystal Clear Brooks.” After that, he continued to include covers such as John Prince’s “Hello In There,” Buddy Miller’s “Wide River To Cross,” Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young,” and the reissued solo masterpiece “AMUSED TO DEATH.” The Bravery Of Being Out Of Range” and “Amused To Death” will be played. And what makes me happy above all is the Floyd numbers such as “Wish You Were Here,” “Brain Damage,” and “Eclipse” sung with an acoustic guitar in hand. All of them are very familiar and super representative songs, but since they have been focusing on “THE WALL” in recent years, they all sound fresh. Also, Roger himself is a special guest for MY MOURNING JACKET, but additional guests Sarah Watkins and Amy Helm are also featured. Sarah, who plays the violin in “Wish You Were Here” and “Wide River To Cross,” is a former NICKEL CREEK singer-songwriter. Amy, who appears in “Wide River To Cross”, is the daughter of THE BAND’s Levon Helm. Sarah’s violin plays more than just decoration, raising the song to a new level, and Roger and Amy’s duet vocals are simply beautiful. Although the two once withdrew, they reappeared in the last song, “Forever Young.” The chorus concludes the show. The sound of this work, which is a vacuum-packed version of “Roger now,” is also truly wonderful. Several types of audio and video have already appeared since it is a popular stage, but this is the best in terms of clarity and stability. Despite being an outdoor venue, each stroke of Roger’s acoustic guitar was captured clearly, and you could almost hear the breathing of the backing band and guests. Furthermore, the reality that can only be experienced from the audience seats is also the best. Of course, even if it is an American performance, the audience will not make a fuss and interrupt the performance, but the excitement when you hear the intro of Floyd number and are told the guest is very real. When listening with headphones, the sound is crisp and clear, giving you the sensation of being part of the scene. When the movie “THE WALL TOUR” is released in September of this year, we will be able to see Roger again dressed in a black coat on the screen. Maybe there will be a performance to promote the movie. However, what you hear in this work is not the “legendary man” carrying such a huge concept, but the relaxed “Roger Waters in casual clothes.” This is a book where you can meet Roger of the 21st century, who simply enjoys music without hesitation. A moment before the storm of “THE WALL” breaks out again. Live at Fort Adams State Park, Newport, Rhode Island, USA 24th July 2015 TRULY PERFECT SOUND (65:29) 1. Intro 2. Crystal Clear Brooks 3.
