Description
“US+THEM” has finally begun. This is the first large-scale, big-production tour since the worldwide hit “THE WALL LIVE”, and the latest and best footage of the tour has been decided to be released. This work is included in “May 21, 2017, East Rutherford”. This day was not a regular concert, but a dress rehearsal held prior to the tour. It is a rare show that only those involved, acquaintances, and fans who won on a radio program could experience. Roger started his big concerts last year, and was a hot topic at the century’s competition “DESERT TRIP 2016”. First of all, let’s check the position of this work in that series of events. [2016] September 28-October 1: Mexico City (3 shows) October 9 + 16: DESERT TRIP (2 shows) October 22 + 23: BRIDGE SCHOOL BENEFIT (2 shows) [2017 “US+THEM”] May 21: Rehearsal show ←★Here★ May 26-August 13: North America #1 (34 shows) September 7-October 28: North America #2 (21 shows) This is an overview of the live activities that have been announced so far. In 2016, they performed in Mexico, which was the debut of the new production, and appeared in “DESERT TRIP 2016”, but the actual tour is yet to come. This work is the final rehearsal of the big US tour. Of course, it is a public performance, even though it is a limited rehearsal for related parties and friends only. It is a perfectly polished show and is the actual tour premiere. A few seconds of official footage has also been released from this concert, but this work is completely different. This is an audience shot that contains almost the full show. “Almost” means that there are a few missed shots. The two songs “Us and Them” and “Smell the Roses” played in the second half of the show, as well as the waiting time between songs. Some songs have parts that are not completed. Therefore, it was not a seamless panoramic view, but you can still witness the panoramic view of the show for 1 hour and 50 minutes. Although the cut is unfortunate, the quality blows it away. Although the angle differs depending on the song, all of them are shots looking up from close to the stage, and Roger is extremely close! We introduced wonderful footage from last year’s Mexico performance and “DESERT TRIP 2016”, but most of the time it was like looking at a screen from a distant view because it was a huge venue. However, this work allows you to look directly at Roger with the naked eye. It is truly the best seat experience unique to dress rehearsals. The sound that suits the view is also magnificent. The recording is different for each angle, but all of them have a thick and clear sound. It is a direct sound that enhances the close-up image to a sense of intimacy. Roger’s latest show, drawn with such quality, is a breathtaking spectacle. This also includes plenty of huge video production that takes over from last year’s show, and is overwhelmed by modern cutting-edge entertainment. Of course, the huge Battersea Power Station that appears with a roar and “Pigs (Three Different Ones)” that mocks President Trump are perfect. Since it can be seen at a close-up angle with the latest digital equipment, it is already a tremendous video experience. I have been repeating “Same as last year …”, but the difference is the set list. “When We Were Young”, “Deja Vu”, “The Last Refugee”, “Picture That”, and “Smell the Roses” from the latest work “IS THIS THE LIFE WE REALLY WANT?”, which will be released soon, will also be performed. Now, the world is eagerly awaiting the first rock album in 25 years since “AMUSED TO DEATH”, and the live performance can already be seen with video. There are also changes to the PINK FLOYD numbers. Last year, the “FLOYD Greatest Hits” set list was a hot topic, with most of “Flame” and “Animals” being reproduced. Although the main part of this year’s tour does not go that far with the introduction of new songs, “Another Brick in the Wall Part 3”, which was not there last year, is being played. Five days after this show, the tour “US+THEM” started in earnest. Another new song “When We Were Young” was also released, and enthusiasts all over the world are in a frenzy. As the tour progresses, more wonderful recordings and videos will come out, but it will be difficult to get such close-ups at a stadium-class venue. This is a masterpiece that not only allows you to experience the latest videos at the fastest speed, but also allows you to enjoy Roger up close. Live at Meadowlands Arena, East Rutherford, NJ.
