Description
In 1977 and 1976, Queen, who achieved great success in both name and reality with the single “Bohemian Rhapsody” and the album “A Night at the Opera” reaching number one on the charts in their home country of the UK, held a free concert at Hyde Park on September 18th 1976 to express their gratitude to their fans at the end of their UK tour. This legendary live performance, which attracted more than 150,000 people and became the largest outdoor event in history, is now available for the first time as a complete edition, newly restored and edited using multiple existing video and audio sources! This Hyde Park concert was also planned to be broadcast on TV at the time, and was filmed as a professional shot, but it was later shelved and only fragments of it are available to the public today, making it one of the treasured videos that fans cannot miss as a representative live performance of Queen in the 1970s. Starting with the opening from the album “The Great Races” which has not yet been released at this point, and the live debut of the new song “Take My Breath Away”, this is a noteworthy special concert that has been known to fans of the past in many items from analog records to the video era, but many of them are incomplete or have deteriorated image quality and sound quality. This time, in addition to the longest version made from multiple sound sources, the two best quality complete versions have been made into DVDs by the latest digital restoration work using multiple existing video footage. In addition, it is a highly recommended collector’s item that completely covers the sound and video of the legendary Hyde Park concert that Freddie mocked as “Picnic by the Serpentine”, including maniac content other than the main story, such as the vintage analog reprint sound source and outtake footage that were popular at the time! [Collector’s Point] The Hyde Park concert, known as Queen’s representative live performance in the 1970s, has only had fragmentary footage recorded on official videos and TV specials, and collectors of the past are familiar with degraded video copies of the complete version, but this time, two versions of the first DVD-ized video with upgraded quality by the latest digital restoration editing work, such as noise removal, dropouts, and color balance correction, based on low-generation video that is less degraded than the old video footage, are recorded. The widescreen 16:9 remastered version is a version edited to a wide size by combining multiple videos. The standard 4:3 version is an uncut video version in which the original leaked video with time code is masked with the unsightly time code while keeping the screen ratio the same. When comparing both with the video that was circulated in the past, the difference in the quality of the upgraded restoration can be seen everywhere. In addition, both the latest remastered enhanced stereo and the original mono sound source are recorded for the audio. It is also possible to compare the original sound source and the remastered sound source by switching the DVD audio. The extra bonus footage also includes fragmented live footage, precious footage from different angles and edits, as well as the longest film outtakes in history, 21 minutes, and rare BBCTV footage from that time. The CD audio is a soundboard audio source different from the video source, and the main part is recorded. In addition to the video fragments, it also includes audience recordings directly transferred from the vintage analog “FREE IN THE PARK” that was popular in the 1970s. A complete reproduction of the nostalgic classic analog A and B sides, known to collectors for its good sound quality despite being an outdoor free concert. It is a valuable record that vividly captures the immersive concert at that time. This is a special collection of 2CD + 2DVD sets that is a must-have for Queen collectors, completely covering the sound and video archives related to the Hyde Park concert.
