Description
Prince achieved this feat in 2007 by performing 21 times at the O2 Arena. The live album that captures the unprecedented performance of “21 NIGHTS IN LONDON: THE EARTH TOUR” with the finest sound is now available for reissue. Speaking of “O2 Arena”, it is London’s largest arena venue with a capacity of 20,000 people. In recent years, many concerts by big-name artists have been held here. However, the scale of “21 performances” is unusual. For example, the Rolling Stones in 2012, Paul McCartney, QUEEN + Adam Lampard, and others held concerts at the O2 Arena in 2015, but only for two days each. This year, JEFF LYNNE’S ELO’s “O2 Arena” performance, which started its first world tour in 30 years, became a hot topic. Still, it’s been 4 days. In Prince’s case, he didn’t travel around the world but concentrated on one location, so a simple comparison is not possible, but you can still imagine how huge the scale of “21 performances” is. Moreover, all 21 performances were sold out. A total of 351,527 people packed the venue, and it was a huge success with revenue of $22.05 million (approximately 2.6 billion yen at the exchange rate at the time). Such an unprecedented big box office event was held from August 1st to September 21st, 2007, but this work was recorded on August 25th, 2007. It was the 11th performance out of 21, so it was right in the middle. The person who recorded it was a master living in England. He is a familiar recording artist who has provided us with countless great recordings and is known as a “constant master.” The unique sound that combines warmth and clarity with DAT recording has been well received, and the taper has become so popular that even artists who are not particularly interested in it have asked for it, saying, “I’d like to listen to his recordings.” This work is a masterpiece among the masters’ collection. In fact, the sound that flows from this work is simply beautiful, with deep musical tones that convey plenty of the warmth that is the personality of the master brand. Prince’s singing voice also reaches straight like a laser beam, but it also has a slight reverberation that rises from its trajectory. It is a recording that makes you feel the scale of “O2 Arena” while the outline is clearly visible. What elevates the sense of scale to a spectacle is the loud applause of the 20,000-strong crowd. The applause and cheers that spread across the huge space were like a smooth carpet, yet had an amazing three-dimensional effect. It’s so vast that even if you concentrate on the small cheers in the distance, you won’t know the end. Of course, there is no audience making a fuss, and even the vast applause is only a support, so the musical sound with a strong presence is able to take control of the large venue. Speaking of the awesomeness of the call and response that occurs due to that balance… it is a sound that perfectly vacuum packs the flavor unique to a large venue. Such a spectacular sound is top class not only in the master collection but also in the entire “O2 Arena 21 performances”. In fact, “O2 Arena” opened in June of this year. Tapers from all over the world took on the challenge of recording the concert, as it was a huge show that attracted worldwide attention, but since it had only recently opened, many recorders were unable to grasp the acoustic characteristics and were unable to demonstrate their abilities. The master had the same handicap, but by chance I was able to record in a good position. When this work first appeared, all 21 performances had not yet been completed, but it was praised as “one of the best recordings” by a specialized magazine. “21 NIGHTS IN LONDON: THE EARTH TOUR” drawn with that sound is also wonderful. The official edition “INDIGO NIGHTS” was also produced from this tour, but the set of this work is completely different. There is not even a single song duplicate. However, there are also many popular songs. In the past, it has been widely selected from “I Feel 4 U” from the second album “PRINCE” to “Guitar” from the latest work “PLANET EARTH” at the time, including “1999” and “Little Red Corvette” which ranked 2nd in the UK. The album will feature plenty of top 10 hits from the UK charts of each era, including “Take Me With U,” “Kiss,” and “U Got The Look.” If you think about it, you can also listen to extremely rare performances such as “Planet Earth” and the Stones’ cover song “Honky Tonk Woman”, which have only a few records throughout their career. It’s not just a hit parade, it’s not just rare either. Prince’s dazzling concert will be held, featuring a wide range of hit songs and musical ideas. This is a delicious concert in the middle of the 21st O2 Arena concert of the century, with not a single song duplicated from the official version. This is a masterpiece in which the British master put all his skill into recording it beautifully. That year, he won the Golden Globe Award for “Song of the Heart,” achieved the third-highest viewership rating in U.S. TV history for the Super Bowl halftime show, and won the NAACP’s Best Black Artist (Image Award). Awarded. This is a book where you can meet a prince enjoying his golden years for the first time. Now that his life and career are all in the spotlight, this is a great recording that I would like as many people as possible to know about. Here and now, we are making a grand comeback.
