The performance in Zurich, Switzerland on June 12, 2008 was completely recorded with a completely different, ultra-high quality audience recording that can be declared to be the best of the tour. Using another DAT master recorded at the same venue as “Strapped To The Wing” released last week, it is recorded with an incredible level of sound that far surpasses the high-quality board “Strapped To The Wing” that was thought to be no better. Instead of the receding sound of the tinkling metal heard in “Strapped To The Wing”, which was quite equalized, Sting’s bass is recorded with a full and rich sound, and the drum sound is recorded with a more natural sound. In addition to the spread of the sound, the natural texture and sound balance that colors the whole are really wonderful, and the previously released board that I believed to be the best sound quality sounds a little lacking in cohesion when listening to this. The bass running in the third song, Demolition Man, is recorded with an outstanding sense of groove, which excites the listener. The audience’s voices are quieter than in the previous releases, and the sound feels more direct than anything else, so it’s likely that nothing better than this live album will come out of the Police reunion tour. This is a completely different album that will make you feel as if you’re listening to a masterpiece of an official live performance. This is definitely a must-have and must-listen!!
