“THE REUNION TOUR 2007-2008” embodied the “dream of rock”. It was a tour that traveled around the world and excited the earth, but among them, this is a “special” live album reissue. There are three “special” things about this work. “Mood”, “set list”, and “sound”. First of all, the “mood” is nothing but the show itself is special. This work is an audience album of the “May 28, 2007 Vancouver performance”, but it is actually the first day of the world tour. That said, strictly speaking, it is not the “premiere”. At the beginning of the tour, three consecutive days of performances were held at “GM PLACE (now Rogers Arena)” in Vancouver, so let’s take a look at the contents. ・May 27: 4,000 people limited to fan club members ・May 28: First day of the tour [this work] ・May 29 These are the first three days of “THE REUNION TOUR”. The on-site “GM PLACE” is an indoor stadium that can accommodate 19,000 people, but “May 27th” was a warm-up with only 4,000 people from the fan club only in the huge venue. “May 28th” of this work was the first day of the world tour with the venue fully opened for the first time. That’s why this work is filled with the great enthusiasm of “Finally!” About 20,000 people waited for the revival after 23 years, singing every song and giving a full cheer. It is full of the shock of actually witnessing the moment of the century. And the three members of THE POLICE were also amazing in their enthusiasm. There are many live records from this tour, including the official album “CERTIFIABLE: LIVE IN BUENOS AIRES”, but the performance of this work is not half-hearted. The enthusiasm is considerable only on the first day of the reorganization, but on top of that, the great welcome for each song changes the “tension” into a feeling of “It’s going to be amazing!” That is conveyed in a real way. It’s been a long story, but the second special “set list” is also only on the first day. This tour was roughly a fixed set, but there were also special songs for only a few performances. In particular, since this work is the first day, there are still some parts that are still being explored, and “Spirits In The Material World” and “Murder By Numbers”, which are not on the official album “CERTIFIABLE”, will also be played. The former was played 11 times on the world tour with a total of 151 performances, and the latter was only played 7 times. You can really enjoy the performance that is only possible at the beginning of the tour. And the “sound” that contains such a special show is the last special. It’s not the type that you would call “like a sound board”, but the musical tones and singing voices that reach you straight are wonderfully clear. As mentioned above, the life of this work is the “on-site feeling” and “realism” of being in the midst of a great frenzy, but while enjoying that to the fullest, you can also vividly enjoy the performance that jumps into your hands. The bass sound is particularly wonderful. The bass, which tends to be a weakness in audience recordings, is robust, and each and every grain of the bass is three-dimensional. It approaches with a realistic sound that you can even feel the touch of your hands. In Japan, we were able to experience the excitement of “Finally!”, but this work is a scaled-up version of that. To be honest, it is an audience album with scenes where the chorus and the performance stand side by side, but that is why it is so passionate and moving. There are many masterpieces of “THE REUNION TOUR”, but there is no one as full of joy as this one. A great masterpiece of a document album that you can literally “get engrossed” in the middle of the “dream of rock”.
