Description
Following the highly acclaimed 1977 Boston performance, which was hailed as “the best release of the year,” the second installment of the “UNPROCESSED” series is an upgraded version of the Chicago performance on April 28th from the first North American tour in 1972. “CHICAGO 1972” released in 2004 was highly acclaimed as the definitive edition of the same performance sound source, but this take is a true Chicago definitive edition that uses the upper master directly from every point of view. Collectors who know the sound source of “CHICAGO 1972”, which is comparable to line recording, may wonder, “Can anything be better than that?”, but this “UNPROCESSED” version of the master sound source itself, Not only is it fresh, but the amount of information in the sound itself completely exceeds that of previous releases, and its natural sense of scale and wideness is truly wonderful. The previously released version used a sound source with no hiss and excessive equalization as the master, but the “UNTOUCHED” and “UNPROCESSED” versions that I received this time have no equalization that hurts my ears. Even though there is no such thing, the high and low frequencies are outputted in a more scaled-up manner, making it a must-listen for fans. (It turns out that the overall stuttering that was heard in the previous releases came from the deterioration and equalization of the generator.) This disc, which was recorded with high-quality sound almost like a sound board recording, has all A must-listen/must-have for fans. Furthermore, Echoes, which had a big cut in the first half of the 19 minute range, has the advantage of being recorded uncut in the previous release. (Unfortunately, the Us And Them 1:20 cut remains the same on this album.) Like the previous release, the opening Breathe can be found to have a slightly rough edge of the sound, but from then on there was no problem until the end, and now. Even when I listen to it, I’m still surprised that “Chicago in 1972 is such an amazing recording.” Live at The Auditorium Theater, Chicago, Illinois, USA 28th April 1972 PERFECT SOUND(UPGRADE!!!)
