Description

PINK FLOYD, who brought the band potential that created the great album to the stage during the release of “Atom Heart Mother”. Two new titles that convey the live performance have been decided to be released simultaneously. “A two-part series polished by meticulous mastering is here. This work is the first part of the two-part simultaneous release. It is a superb audience recording of the “Philadelphia performance on September 26, 1970”. Speaking of 1970, it was a time when various events occurred in parallel with the tour, such as the interruption due to theft and the production of the revolutionary masterpiece “Atom Heart Mother”, and the band rapidly evolved. Our shop archives the famous recordings that convey their progress with the highest peak renewal quality, and this is the latest edition. The time of the show is important above all, so let’s first unravel the outline of their activities at that time and approach the position of this work.・January 10th – February 28th: Europe #1 (18 shows) ←※LIVE AT LEEDS, etc. {March 1st: Production of “Atom Heart Mother” begins}・March 5th – 30th: Europe #2 (15 shows) ←※NUREMBERG 1970, etc.・April 9th - May 16th: North America #1 (17 shows) ←※FILLMORE WEST 1970, etc. {Tour interrupted due to equipment theft}・June 27th – July 26th: Europe #3 (7 shows) ←※HYDE PARK 1970, etc. {July 26th: Recording of “Atom Heart Mother” finished}・August 8th – September 12th: Europe #4 (4 shows)・September 26th – October 25th: North America #2 (20 shows) ←★Here★・November 6th – December 22nd: Europe #5 (21 shows) ←※HANOVER 1970, etc. This is PINK FLOYD in 1970. They created “Atom Heart Mother” while performing live and continued touring. The album was released during “North America #2”. Since masterpieces such as “PEPPERLAND 70: 1ST GEN REEL” and “SANTA MONICA OCTOBER 1970: REVISITED” are well known here, let’s focus on the dates and organize our collection. Details of “North America #2” * September 26: Philadelphia performance ← ★ This work ★ * September 27 “FILLMORE EAST 1970 (Early Show)” ・ September 27-October 2 (3 performances) 《October 2 “Atom Heart Mother” released》 ・ October 3-25 (8 performances) * October 16 “PEPPERLAND 70: 1ST GEN REEL” * October 17 “PEPPERLAND 1970” ・ October 18 + 21 (2 performances) * October 23 “SANTA MONICA OCTOBER 1970: REVISITED” ・ October 25: Boston performance … and so on. Such a Foradelphia performance is also known for the superb recordings that were left behind. Since it was unearthed around 2000, it is not as well known as the Pepperland and Santa Monica recordings, but the sound is not at all inferior. The extremely thick and direct feeling of the core without a sense of distance is of soundboard class, and the 2nd generation, known as the best master, has a glossy sound and overwhelming fine details. It is an indispensable item for the 1970 collection. This work is the highest peak update of such a famous recording. The aforementioned best master was finished with detailed mastering by “GRAF ZEPPELIN”. This work also makes use of its obsessive precision, such as pitch / phase correction that does not allow even 1/1000th of a second of deviation and various noise processing, but what was particularly big this time was “editing”. For example, between songs. During the distribution process of this recording, silent parts occurred between songs (although the cause is unknown). Since it is the 2nd generation, dubbing was only done twice, and it seems that the tape was copied while pausing at either of them. It is also a mysterious treatment that cannot be read with intention, and there were also times when they did not know how to handle the existing group, so they left it silent, or cut out the MC before and after it. This time, such silent parts are analyzed in detail. The previous and next parts were connected exactly as they were on-site, and they were successful in restoring the sound to its original condition. There were four silent parts. On DISC 1, between “Heavenly Rule/Simbaline/Mystery”, and on DISC 2, between “Starry Sky Drive/Fat and Staggering Sun/Green Is the Color”. The natural finish makes it hard to believe there was a silent part, and the MC that had been erased depending on the previous release has been firmly reprinted. For those who are experiencing this work for the first time, it is just an ordinary inter-song interval, but those who have experienced the previous releases will be impressed that “It’s beautifully connected!” Of course, the inter-song interval is an easy-to-understand example, and this work realizes a sense of stability that updates the essential performance parts to the highest peak. The most obvious part is probably the last “Sun Hymn”. In fact, the 2nd Gene Master is missing “Sun Hymn”, and it is customary for this song to be supplemented with a different source (two combinations of different branches of the same recording). This work is also supplemented in the same way, but the accuracy is different. The pitch and phase of each source are precisely adjusted, minimizing discomfort. The 1970 live performance has been reproduced as exactly as possible. PINK FLOYD in 1970, when overflowing ingenuity and imagination were evolving rock with all their might. This work is a live album that is proof of that sound. A cultural heritage that allows you to experience precious MCs and live performances with the highest peak updated sound without missing anything. The master used is the same as the previous version, but the point is that all the cuts between songs are restored uncut in four places. In addition, the between songs were processed, but crossfading was used extensively there, and as a result, the actual between songs, including MCs, were quite missing. This time, crossfading was not done and the recording state of the original tape was restored, and there were no unnecessary cuts between songs except for the disc change and before the performance of the Sun Hymn. The pitch of the Sun Hymn was quite low (-4%) on the previous version, which was corrected for the first time this time. The best audience recording of the “Philadelphia Performance on September 26, 1970”. This is the highest peak update board that “GRAF ZEPPELIN” polished the existing best 2nd generation master, and the thick core and direct feeling without distance are sound board class, and the sound is especially glossy and detailed. The unnatural silence between songs and “Sun Hymn” that was supplemented with a different source have been arranged, and it is a cultural heritage album that has been improved to a level of completion never before seen. Live at Electric Factory, Philadelphia, PA, USA 26th September 1970 ULTIMATE SOUND UPGRADE Disc 1 (40:07) 1. Astronomy Domine 2. Cymbaline 3. A Saucerful Of Secrets Disc 2 (62:02) 1.
