In 2017, he released his new album “Far From Over”, his fifth album from ECM. This work features regular trio bassist Stefan Crump, alto saxophonist Steve Lehman, tenor saxophonist Mark Sim, and Roy Haynes’ biological son of the previous “Break Stuff” trio, which has been together for 13 years this year. Graham Haynes on trumpet and Tyshawn Thorley in place of regular trio drummer Marcus Gilmore as a sextet to perform Keith’s American Quartet’s immortal masterpieces “Illusion of Life and Death” and “Remnants.” The result is a miraculous masterpiece that perfectly combines the reminiscent profound composition, detailed arrangement, and creative improvisation. “Far From Over”, which is said to be impossible to reproduce, was reproduced live, and even more happily, with regular trio Marcus Gilmour on drums, it was performed with a perfect lineup on October 14, 2017 in Sweden.
