Various Artists Hear ‘N Aid/Stars 12” Single

The “HEAR ‘N AID” project items released in 1986 included the main compilation album, as well as 7-inch singles, 12-inch singles, and video/laser discs. A compilation album was once officially released on CD, but the single was only released on analog in 1986. This work includes the full version of the main song “Stars,” the single edit of “Stars,” and the documentary commentary “The 4 1/2 Minutes News.” The full version of “Stars” is available on DVD as well as on the official CD, but the remaining two tracks will be released on CD for the first time. “Stars (Single Version)” is edited to about 4 minutes and 50 seconds, while the full version is about 7 minutes. The solos played by many guitar heroes are dramatically shortened, making it a song that can be listened to as a normal metal song. This song was played live on DIO’s 1987 tour, and the arrangement is similar to that. However, this is not the basic version performed only by DIO members, and solos by each singer and Brad Gilles also appear. It is just a shortened version of the full version. The third track is a documentary track featuring interviews with participating musicians. It has a news-like feel, with a female narrator connecting the gaps, and seriously talks about the significance of the project. This is a track that explains why they decided to start this project, why they participated, and the atmosphere of the mid-80’s that wafts through their voices.
