Description

A CD containing the complete recording of VAN HALEN’s 2013 Japan tour, the highlight of which was their live show at Tokyo Dome on June 21st, is now available in superb sound quality that can be declared as “this is the definitive edition!”. By carefully mixing multiple IEM sources used on stage in stereo, and adding an audience sound source as ambience that fully conveys the heat of the venue with deep bass and a moderate sense of presence, we have created a “live performance”. It is no exaggeration to say that this is the ultimate in recording. It is a work of extremely high quality. “2013 TOKYO”, which was released in advance by the same label, was an astonishing sound source that overwhelmingly vividly captured Eddie’s guitar tone from the front of the arena, but in this title, all instruments are captured in perfect balance. You can experience high quality sound equivalent to a stereo sound board sound source. Eddie, Dave, Alex, and Wolfie are localized in this order with perfect stereo separation from the right channel to the left channel, and because the same original audience master as “2013 TOKYO” is used, the power of Eddie’s guitar can be heard. The sound is not significantly impaired, and you can clearly hear even the fine nuances of the drums and bass that were a little buried in the audience sound source alone. The impressive 2-hour stage where “I’m The One” played a surprise set-in, and the gem performance that made Eddie call it “the best night” can be enjoyed on a permanent press CD. A must-have item for all fans to enjoy. Furthermore, as bonus tracks, three songs from the Nagoya performance (6/18 Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium) on the first day of the tour that were not performed in Tokyo, “Jamie’s Cryin'”, “The Trouble With Never”, and “Atomic Punk” are also IEM source Additional recording with audience source matrix sound source. As a result, you can enjoy all the songs played at this Japan tour with this single title, literally making it the definitive version of the Japan tour. Furthermore, as a finishing bonus track, Dave’s “Ice Cream Man” and Japanese practice footage are added from the sound check held before the opening of this Tokyo performance. Dave did not appear at the sound check just before the opening in Nagoya, but on this day he remained alone even after the band’s sound and conducted such a careful rehearsal. A surreal sound world in which the Japanese MC, who has been used extensively on this tour, rides on the enchanting melody of an acoustic guitar, such as “Darenimukattekuchiwokiiterunda”. Everyone can see for themselves that the idol of a rare performer and frontman – Diamond Dave – is the product of unmistakable talent and bloody hard work. I guess that’s what you think.
