Description

VAN HALEN won glory in 1986 with the famous album “5150” featuring Sammy Hagar. A live set that includes the entire three consecutive performances is now available. This work includes “Worcester performances on August 11, 12, and 14, 1986.” The show at “Worcester Centrum” was 4 consecutive performances, but this work is a 6-disc set that includes the full recording of performances 1-3. First of all, as usual, let’s imagine the show’s position from the overall picture of the tour.・March 27th – May 31st: North America #1 (47 performances) ・June 28th – September 1st: North America #2 (40 performances) ←★Here★ ・September 5th: MTV VIDEO AWARDS・September 27th – November 3rd: North America #3 (24 performances) A total of 112 performances. “5150 TOUR” was not a so-called world tour, but was limited to two countries, the United States and Canada. The Worcester performance of this work is the 27th-29th performance of “North America #2”. Also, speaking of the symbol of “5150 TOUR”, there is also the official video work “LIVE WITHOUT A NET”, but it was also in a position about two weeks before that. This work, which includes such three Worcester performances, is an audience recording of three people. They are not all created by the same recording artist, and each has its own unique personality. As for what kind of individuality they have… [Disc 1-2: August 11th (first day)] The first one to appear is a sudden masterpiece. It is a superb recording recently released by the prestigious “KRW_CO”, and it is a masterpiece that has been made into a CD directly from the original analog master. The sound is extremely thick and beautiful. Although it is an audience recording that realistically inhales the enthusiasm, the musical tone that overwhelms even that is truly robust, and the sound is beautiful without distortion or muddiness. Although the acoustics of the venue are slightly affected, the atmosphere is clear and the catchy melody shines without hiding the details. It’s as easy to listen to as a soundboard, but the on-site feeling is overwhelmingly superior. It is truly an honor student of audience recording. [Disc 3-4: August 12th (2nd day)] The second day is a master that takes a step forward in this work. Although the detailed recording position is not conveyed, it feels a little distant, and the fine details cannot be reached. However, that is because the other two types are so wonderful, and it is still an above-average recording. It wasn’t an explosive or roaring sound (at all!), and there was no noise that seemed like noise. Although there is a distance, the musical sounds and singing voices that reach through the atmosphere shine. The taste of such a recording is that it feels like a real document. VAN HALEN changed the band’s face from Diamond Dave to Red Rocker and drastically changed their musical style. In fact, DLR BAND was more of a continuation of the old route, but despite such a major transformation, it generated a fierce reception and great enthusiasm. This recording makes you feel the tremendous popularity of this song in a very real way. As mentioned above, it is a live album that allows you to feel the real temperature of the “5150 TOUR” that could not be experienced in Japan. [Disc 5-6: August 14th (3rd day)] The third and final day is a high-quality recording that approaches the first day (Disc 1-2). Although it is not a particularly prestigious excavation, the ultimate gene that was digitized directly from the original master cassette is incredibly fresh. The best part is the extremely lively guitar and vocals. The neatness of the sound is better on the first day, but the power and direct feeling of line recording is better here. Eddie’s guitar roars nearby, and you can hear Sammy’s youthful singing voice right next to you. Furthermore, the chorus is wonderful, and the three-voice harmony of Sammy/Michael/Eddie plays in my head… Audience recordings have a huge difference in taste, so it is a famous recording that is preferred more than the first day of prestigious excavation. The show drawn with the quality of these three people is exactly the original 100% and expanded version of “LIVE WITHOUT A NET”. The opening scene of “You Really Got Me”, which could not be heard officially, was much longer than the official video that was an excerpt of just one performance, the killer “Dreams”, and the rare song “Good Enough” that was only available on this tour. You can also enjoy it. Furthermore, what is fun because it is a set of 3 performances is the daily time. On this tour, we played a different song every day at the beginning of the encore. The first day was Sammy’s old club MONTROSE’s “Make It Last,” the second day was a blues jam, and the third day was a rare cover of Chip Taylor’s “Wild.” “Thing” will be performed. Even in the blues jam on the second day, you can hear some very passionate solos, and every performance is a delicious corner where you can feel the mood of “only on this day”. The “5150 TOUR” was at its peak during the Sammy era, but could not be experienced in Japan. A gorgeous show filled with passionate performances that prove the capabilities of a new era, and a rush of famous songs from famous albums. It is a big set where you can fully enjoy the entire three performances. The Centrum, Worcester, MA. USA 11th, 12th & 14th August 1986 TRULY AMAZING/PERFECT SOUND Live at the Centrum, Worcester, MA.
