This is a great way to delve deeper into Tom Scott’s masterpiece “Apple Juice,” which was born from such a dream lineup. “Apple Juice” is a live album that contains excerpts from a live performance held at the Bottom Line from January 15 to 17, 1981, but what is being released here this time is the early and late shows on January 14, the day before. Of course, the lineup is exactly the same as “Apple Juice.” The audience recording is so well recorded that it would be mistaken for a soundboard if there were no cheering. The set list is not very different, but the performance is quite different just by comparing the early and late shows, and fans who count “Apple Juice” as their favorite album should listen to it.
