The Who/CA,USA 1980 Mike Millard Original Master Tapes

In recent years, “Mike Millard tapes” have been digitized from direct master or low generation tapes. This tape was recorded by Mike Millard, a taper familiar to fans with his outstanding audience recording skills. The same label has released multiple sound sources that are mastered using the newly digitized Mike Millard tape, but if you look closely, you will find “Brushed Mike Millard Tape” and “Legendary Mike Millard Tape”. Did you notice that there are two types of “tape”? Not all Mike Millard tapes have perfect sound quality, and some of them have room for improvement with considerable modification, and the “Brushed” series is one that has been significantly modified and improved. The “Legendary” series consists of tracks that are close to perfect, with little room for improvement in sound quality, and are kept to a bare minimum, such as light editing between songs. This time, The Who appears from the “Brushed” series. You might think that the sound is not very good because it is “brushed”, but that is not at all the case. The sound quality was originally quite good, but we refined it because we thought it could be even better. The reverberation sound remained a little strong, so we made improvements to that point. This 1980 tour primarily featured the album Who Are You. Although it is different from the time when it was most popular, as you can see in the photo, Pete is playing a Telecaster, and it is also fun to hear the difference in the guitar sound from when he used to play SG or Les Paul.
