Description
This may be the most unique setlist of Stevie Wonder’s live performances. This title is a high-quality audience recording of the Pasadena performance on December 18, 1979. What makes it rare is that all the songs on the album Journey Through The Secret Life Of Plants are performed and reproduced almost in the order in which they were recorded. Journey Through The Secret Life Of Plants is a two-disc analog masterpiece that took three years to create, following Stevie’s masterpiece Songs In The Key Of Life. However, it did not include many pop songs and was not a hit. However, Stevie’s genius is evident in the magnificent music that includes orchestration, and although it sounds like environmental music, it has a detailed development, and its beauty and purity, humor and sadness, and the entire universe are completely expressed in sound. It was an album of very high quality, as if it had succeeded in containing it. It was actually produced as a documentary film score, but that movie ended up being shelved, and I feel like I’m venting my frustrations in a live performance. That’s not to say it’s not a live show filled with anger; there’s a refreshing Stevie who is happy to let out his frustrations and be happy to be able to show off the majesty of the album live. As I was listening to this live performance sincerely and letting it sink into my heart, I realized that the songs before and after Send One Your Love (this is probably the most famous song on this album) are a magnificent intro and outro, and Send One Your Come Back As A Flower, which seems to be a super long version of Love, and which is probably the original with Syreeta Wright as the main vocalist, is very beautiful, and it is a friendly duet with Stevie, and there are a lot of hit songs in the middle of the song. , until the grand finale when they performed Secret Life Of Plants at the end, you will find that it is one of the most complete live performances of their career, quiet and clean like a puzzle that fits perfectly. And that’s not all, the extremely rare early live version of Do Like You, which was still called Work Like You, is also being played. This tour was held only 6 times, and this recording remained, and the sound quality was among the best for the audience, resulting in a title that is very grateful.
