Metheny New Quartet made its debut in Japan in 2016 and continued its activities for two years until 2018. In 2019, each member did their own activities and reunited this year. However, the 2-disc set is now available for the first time, with a bonus of the Sydney performance from the 2020 concert, which was held only 6 times due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the 2015 Australian performance by the original quartet of Phantom Linda! ! From the concert that was held only 6 times this year, the rare Pat Quartet live performance held on March 7, 2020 at the State Theater in Linda’s home country of Sydney, Australia, has been carefully mastered by the label. It was recorded almost completely over two hours with the highest quality stereo sound, and it also includes Linda, who was active before being selected as Pat’s new quartet, and who Pat probably first saw around this time. A 2-disc set of the quartet’s extremely valuable live performance at Australia’s WPAC Theater on October 31, 2015, additionally recorded on an extremely high-definition stereo soundboard with the label’s own careful mastering, is now available.
