Description
This is a complete recording of the performance in Fairfax, Virginia on March 7th from the first leg of the three-part North American tour in 1996 (February 23rd – March 13th). The performance was recorded in stereo soundboard format from the broadcast master. The second album “(What’s The Story)Morning Glory?” reached a peak of #4 on the Billboard charts, and “Wonderwall” was also a huge hit. Alan White joined the band in June of the previous year, and the set list was changed to the second album version, solidifying their popularity not only in their home country but also in the United States and Japan. Three days later, during a performance at the Providence Strand Theater, Noel was hit by a shoe thrown by an audience member while performing “Wonderwall” during his solo acoustic set. Amid the booing, Noel left the stage without saying anything, and Liam immediately came out and complained to the audience, which ultimately led to the show being called off. This became a legendary US tour with a bad aftertaste, and the fact that you can listen to the full live performance just before that on the soundboard is a must-listen for anyone who wants to know early Oasis, and the high-tension band sound is a must-listen for the whole thing.
