Description

The first report of the restarted PINK FLOYD reprint project will be released simultaneously. The latest live album recording the European tour that is currently underway is now available. This work, which is the second part of the simultaneous progress report, includes “August performance on July 5, 2019”. It is a super clear audience recording. In the first volume “ULM 2019” which will be released simultaneously this week, we explained the outline of the activities, so let’s take a look at the current situation and the show’s position from the details of the European leg that is currently underway.・July 3rd “ULM 2019” ・July 5th: Augusto performance ←★This work★ ・July 6th: Nimes performance ・July 8th: Chieti performance・July 10th: Valletta performance ・July 12th: Taormina performance ・July 14th: Ravenna performance >>Now here<<・A total of 15 performances from July 16th to 27th (8 performances). Currently, this European tour has been announced, and their activities are expected to end within 2019. By the time this article is published, half of the seven performances will have already been completed. The August performance of this work is the second concert of such a European tour. The biggest point of this work that recorded such a show is the sound. Recently, the recordings of SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS have been categorized into three types: “clear type”, “dynamic type”, and “mood type”, and this work is the “clear type”. It is also an outstanding recording. Crystal clear anyway. Of course, a direct feeling from the core that doesn’t make you feel distance is a must, but what’s more important than that is the overwhelming transparency of the air, and the beautiful extension of the sparkling treble. Of course, this does not mean that you cannot hear midrange or heavy bass. The guitar that plays the mid-tones has a clear picking level, and the low-pitched bass is clear and clear, even down to the buzzing vibe. However, such performance sounds are not accompanied by ringing, and the contours are clearly audible. The cause of that sound is probably the venue. The site, Augusta Laurica, is a Roman ruin left over from the colonial era. It’s a semi-circular theater, unlike an arena like Pompeii, but it’s still a wide open space. Therefore, there are no walls or ceilings to reflect sound, and there are no echoes that could muddy the performance sound. What stands out is the beauty of the core, which directly picks up the output sound emitted from the PA and extends into the void. If only the performance sound is like a sound board, this work also records the presence of the audience. It’s the audience’s breath. Anyway, this day is very exciting. In fact, the first song, “Interstellar Overdrive,” suddenly starts with a single scream that makes me feel uneasy, but that’s just a one-shot stop. After that, a crystal clear performance dominates the scene, but between songs there is still a huge applause. Of course, the previous North American/UK tour in early spring was exciting, but this work’s intense clear sound does not make the applause a huge wave, and it is so realistic that you can even see the expressions of joy on each person’s face. Come to think of it, SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS got back on track during last year’s European tour, and continental Europe, especially central Europe, may be the most enthusiastic about them…you can feel that real enthusiasm. is. There was no way the show would be at fault after witnessing such hospitality. It is an ensemble that does not feel like it has been blank for two months since “ULM 2019” on the first day, and this work also shows its strong performance. Of course, the set is the longest volume of all the songs in the same repertoire as in North America and the UK. Coupled with the extremely clear sound, it is a live album that has the exhilarating feeling of running through that long stretch at once. We have been introducing a large number of recordings since last year, but this is by far the clearest sound. To be honest, it’s a little lighter than the ideal balance, and there are scenes where the audience’s enthusiasm is too real. Although it is a recording that is not suitable for permanent preservation, the transparency so far is unique in itself. A live album that revives early FLOYD numbers with its sparkling on-site sound. Live at Augusta Raurica, Augst, Switzerland 5th July 2019 PERFECT SOUND Disc 1(52:42) 1. Intro 2.
