The first show of the US tour, which took place from the fall of 1976 to March of the following year, was held at the Music Hall in Boston, NY, Felt Forum on October 24th. Both shows were recorded in full, 110 minutes each, from the original audience masters, in the highest quality ever recorded. This recording, leaked from a Zappa collector living in Europe, is of amazing quality for an audience recording of that time, considering the era, and there are only a few live recordings from a very short period when Terry Bozzio and Eddie Jobson, as well as female keyboardist and vocalist Bianca, who left the band a month later, were still in the band, so be sure to check that out too. And since there were only two performances on the same day, the set list and arrangements were of course changed significantly, and the entire show showed a high level of sound, and a wonderful ensemble, despite being a small group. Especially in the middle of both albums, Bozzio is featured heavily with his superb drumming and vocals, and the flow from “Titties n Beer” to “Black Napkins,” and the long medley centered around “Purple Lagoon” at the end are reminiscent of the famous “Live in New York” concert, so these are must-listens for die-hard fans of this period.
