Zawinul Syndicate John McLaughlin/Italy 1995 & more

The recordings are of their appearances at jazz festivals held in Europe as the Zawinul Syndicate in the summer of 1995, both of which are 1 hour and 15 minutes long, and are digitally remastered in 2025 from the soundboard sound source of the FM broadcast master. The first half is from the “UMBRIA JAZZ FESTIVAL” held in Perugia, Italy on July 10, and the second half is from the “NORTH SEE JAZZ FESTIVAL” in the Netherlands on the 16th. Both have a strong world music orientation, especially African music, which Weather also pursued, and the sound that deepens this even further is reminiscent of the special live performance with Narada Michael Walden held in Tokyo that year. In addition, John McLaughlin also participated in these festivals with his trio, and as they are old friends, he made a surprise appearance at the end of each festival to perform a session.
