Description
This is a high-quality live CD that records John McLaughlin’s last appearance at the traditional Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy in July 1995, recorded from the local FM broadcast sound source. The set list includes songs from the album “My People” released the following year, and is a wonderful ensemble that can only be heard live. The third song, “Scarlet Woman,” also depicts a mysterious world. Matthew Garrison is on bass, and Paco Serri, who is indispensable to the syndicate, is on drums, so you can’t miss their play. And the listening thing will be “Sultan” played at the end. The phrases played from the guitar of John McLaughlin, who appeared in the introduction of Zawinul, and the battle with the members are exciting in a natural trance state.
