Description

This work is Yngwie’s third Japan tour (his second solo tour) in conjunction with his 1986 masterpiece “TRILOGY”. This is the second day in Tokyo. There were two performances on this day, an “afternoon section” and an “evening section.” Discs 1 and 2 contain the “afternoon section,” and disks 3 and 4 contain the “evening section.” . What is the special awesomeness of this work? There are many things, but what I would like to mention here is that you can listen to Yngwie in super, super, top form, who created the masterpiece “TRILOGY”, playing a large amount of that masterpiece “TRILOGY”. The Japanese audience loves Yngwie the most in the world, the extremely high sound quality, and the ability to listen to the performance of the legendary master Wally Voss. I’m sure you can guess ??? before you listen to it, but what surprises you when you listen to it? In particular, the high sound quality of the “morning section” on discs 1 and 2 is not extraordinary. All the instruments are perfect sound board quality so that there is no end if you write it loosely. Good sound is always important for any band, but it’s especially important for Yngwie. After all, he is a person who overwhelmingly knocks things down throughout the entire story, so the stress builds up and he becomes unbearable with the dangos and explosions. However, the sound of this work is horribly and beautifully recorded down to each picking, so the tremendous rapid fire is directly connected to the pleasure. Moreover, the person who is showing off this rapid-fire performance is Yngwie, who was in his prime before his traffic accident (1987). What a pleasure it is to have a rapid fire that is unparalleled in accuracy, yet smooth, wild, and full of song… There have been many guitarists who played faster and more accurately than Yngwie, such as Paul Gilbert, Chris Impellitteri, and John Petrucci, but there was never a guitarist who could sing and play as well as Yngwie at this time. The rich beauty of the bending and vibrato that resonates with the glossy sound of “Icarus’ Dream Suite Op. 4.” Just by having ?’s super masterpieces lined up here, it is like a guarantee that it will be the “best masterpiece of ‘YNGIWE IN JAPAN'”, but there is also an additional amazing fact that only those in the know know. That’s Wally Voss. In general, I think it’s just “I don’t think there were any tour personnel like that,” but he is truly a phantom master. I am not joking or saying random things for the purpose of advertising. Wally did not leave any recordings with the Yngwie Band, and died of Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1992 at the young age of 34. Therefore, although it is little known, the bass he played on Joey Tafolla’s “OUT OF THE SUN” in which he participated is amazing. It’s enough to make enthusiasts say, “It’s better than Billy Sheehan who played on Makapine’s 1st!” If you don’t remember, check out Tafolla’s “Eternity’s End” on Youtube right now and be blown away by the bass solo in the second half. The high sound quality of this work is that it firmly captures the base of Wally. Of course, since Yngwie is all alone, the bass never surpasses the guitar, and there are no dramatic highlights. However, despite the rapid-fire guitars running around in all directions, the bass can also be heard clearly, and the bass performance is worthy of the name of a master. After all, there were live performances left by the master Wally, who left almost no works during his lifetime (perhaps only two, including Tafolla’s). What’s more, you can listen to a live performance full of guitars and songs that are the pinnacle of neo-club music, and with ultra-high sound quality that clearly shows the bass. At that time, the news that Yngwie and Billy Sheehan were forming a band was a hot topic, but the same performance (if it was really Billy, it would have been more noticeable, but there’s no way Yngwie would allow that… it’s impossible after all. I guess it was a story (lol)) that was already being played out in Japan. There’s no way this isn’t a masterpiece! Compared to “Afternoon Part” Discs 1 and 2, which have extremely high sound quality, “Night Part” Discs 3 and 4 are half a grade lower in quality. Still, it’s not normal, and the vocals and guitar are wonderfully vivid. Even though there are only two performances a day, Jeff Scott Sort’s singing voice is powerful and wonderful in both performances. Since Mark Boles didn’t come, the image of him as a “substitute” became stronger, but I think there are many people who like Jeff who sings with passion and toughness. This “TRILOGY” performance in Japan is often overlooked because Mark Boles did not come. However, once you actually hear it, all of that becomes irrelevant, and the wonderful world of neoclassic music opens up. If you haven’t experienced it yet, or if you can’t help but think this nonsense is exaggerated, please take this chance to check it out for yourself!
