Description
The performance at the Tokyo Postal Savings Hall on January 27th, the final day of the 1985 Japan tour where Yngwie Malmsteen made his shocking solo debut, will be released as a complete 2-CD set using the ultra-high quality audience master recorded for the first time by the “Miracle Man” recording! This year’s Japan tour is known for various audience recordings, including official videos, but this final day is the first collector’s item. However, this work will allow all Yngwie fans to enjoy the completely different recording that is sure to be the definitive first appearance! In 1983, Yngwie moved to the United States from Sweden alone and made a brilliant appearance on the rock scene by joining ALCATRAZZ led by Graham Bonnet. His appearance was sensational in every way, including his eye-catching accurate high-speed picking, melodic phrasing rooted in classical music, and devastatingly spectacular sound and performance. He first came to Japan in 1984 as a member of ALCATRAZZ, which gave him the opportunity to make his solo debut, but he left ALCATRAZZ in July of the same year. After producing his first solo album, “YNGWIE J. MALMSTEEN’S RISING FORCE”, he formed his own band with the Johansson brothers Jens and Anders, Marcel Jacob, and Jeff Scott Soto. The “RISING FORCE” performed a warm-up live show at the Country Club in Los Angeles, and then suddenly came to Japan in January 1985. The tour in Japan in January 1985 started with a show in Osaka on January 22nd and included a total of five shows, and the show at Nakano Sun Plaza in Tokyo on the 24th was officially filmed and released as the video work “LIVE ’85”. In Tokyo, he then performed two consecutive days at the Shiba Postal Savings Hall on January 26th and 27th, concluding his first solo visit to Japan. This work includes the complete live performance on the final day, January 27th, with a wonderful audience recording. As with the previous “Miracle Man” recordings, the sound quality is excellent here, combining the vividness of an excellent live recording with the ease of listening to the performance. The dynamic power of the performance, the best visibility and realism, and the satisfying sound are undoubtedly outstanding even among the recordings of “Miracle Man”! The wonderful sound is sure to overwhelm anyone the moment they hear “I’ll See The Light Tonight” and “Caught In The Middle”! The voluminous bass that resonates deep in your stomach and the well-balanced midrange reproduce Yngwie’s guitar with a crisp and firm sound. Of course, the clarity of the sound is superb, and you can enjoy the high notes of the guitar and Jens’ keyboard with their shining edges and brilliance. The wonderful performances of “As Above, So Below” and “Don’t Let It End”, in which Yngwie’s guitar fully opens up its inherent classical tone and paints a thrilling drama that fills the space, are the best performances that will inevitably make all metal fans realize the talent of the young Yngwie. The solo backing of each song has an incredible number of notes, and the phrasing that does not feel wasteful proves that Yngwie was a “child prodigy” and a real “genius” at that time. The original recordings of “Far Beyond The Sun” and “Black Star” (the acoustic guitar intro is also amazingly realistic!), where not only the guitar but also the bass and drums resonate in front of you, will bring tears to the eyes of enthusiastic Yngwie fans! The speedy number “On The Run Again” that shows off Yngwie’s catchiness and “Anguish And Fear” that includes a drum solo are also highlights that can only be heard in this ’85 live performance. The flow from the moving melody of “Icarus’ Dream Suite Opus 4” where the guitar overflows with emotion to the heavy and majestic “I Am A Viking” and “Little Savage” is a major highlight of the live performance. Jeff’s powerful vocals also sing the rugged Nordic heroic tales with a rich voice. When “Kree Nakoorie” is introduced from a keyboard solo by Jens, who supports the band with techniques that rival Yngwie’s, the venue is filled with particularly loud cheers and excitement. Yngwie, who plays guitar freely without hesitation, seems to push this ALCATRAZZ number to even greater heights. At the end of the live performance, a guitar solo that lasts over 10 minutes also features “Kojo no Tsuki”. From the final song of the main feature, “Disciples Of Hell,” to the encore “Now Your Ships Are Burned,” the 90 minutes of the show are filled with peak energy and momentum! This work re-experiences Yngwie’s live performances from that time, which have been praised by even the most critical metal enthusiasts, with a realism and listening experience that surpasses even the official videos. The greatness of early Yngwie was proven by “SUPER JET” (Calm & Storm-002), but this time it is even more powerful than that! This is a must-have for all heavy metal/hard rock fans, not to mention fans of Yngwie and neo-classical beauty! Don’t miss this dramatic documentary!
