Description
This is a master quality audience recording of the July 2nd performance in Lincoln, Nebraska, from the 1975 “Relayer” US tour with Patrick Moratz. Although there are some tape shakes and small cut parts in “Crisis” and “Ritual”, this previously unreleased recording is a direct full recording of the low generation tape as it is, with John’s vocals, Moratz’s keyboard, and chorus etc. all perfectly clear. And above all, the raging performance of this period was intense and aggressive, transcending prog, and the reason for this is P. Moratz’s jazzy and speedy keyboard playing. In addition to performing three masterpieces of over 20 minutes, such as the demonic “Crisis”, the terrifying “Door of Confusion”, and the incontinent “Ritual”, one phrase from “State of Enlightenment”, which was later included in “Ultimate”, is also performed here. The second half of the set, which includes “Door of Confusion,” is unique to this period, with acoustic versions of “Mood For A Day” and “Long Distance Runaround,” Moratz’s piano solo, and “Clap.” The second half of the set, in which the main sound changes from the free-form part in the middle of “Ritual” to the bass and drums, is also worth listening to. The encore is “Roundabout,” and one of the highlights of this tour, “Sweet Dreams,” features Howe’s wonderful playing and Moratz’s long solo in the second half. This is a representative album of the 1975 North American tour. DISC 1 : 1. Firebird Suite/2. Sound Chaser/3. Close To The Edge/4. To Be Over/5. The Gates Of Delirium DISC 2 : 1.
