Description

Rick Wakeman made his comeback and released “Ultimate” and then embarked on a world tour in 1977, starting in Ohio on July 30th and continuing through December 6th of the same year, with 89 shows in North America and Europe. The final Euro tour was recorded on December 1st in Esslingen, Germany, with an A-rank audience recording at the time. Although it is not complete because the first two songs were not included, it is a valuable recording that was recently unearthed and is making its first appearance. The tour was approaching its climax, and the performance was noticeably relaxed, with a clear slower tempo in “Crisis”. In “Tour Song”, the name of the place was also woven in, and the members were introduced to liven things up, and a light jam session called “Cosmic Mind” was performed before “Ultimate”, creating a relaxed mood. Furthermore, the set is extremely rare, including the improvisational play “Flight Jam” that was unique to this stage, and Jon Anderson’s “Colors of the Rainbow.” This is a must-listen live performance as a valuable record of a step forward into new territory from the blockbuster-oriented progressive rock line!
