The new unit “YES EPICS & CLASSICS” by John Anderson, which is rumored to be more like Yes than the original Yes in recent years, has been steadily active since the 50th anniversary tour of “Crisis” in 2022. This title is a coupling recording of the Filament performance on June 20 and the Hershey performance from the North American tour in 2024, with sound and video. First of all, the CD contains a full recording of the performance on the day from the digital audience master recorded in the front row of the arena for 2 hours and 17 minutes. First of all, the backing band, The Band Geeks, was originally a group that became popular by performing perfect copies of 70’s rock masterpieces on YouTube, and their repertoire includes YES numbers. John was so impressed by the high level of perfection that he brought them on this tour, so in terms of technical aspects, it is said that the quality is higher than the current YES under Steve Howe, if I may say so. Although there is a scene where the performance stops due to John’s mistake in “Close To The Edge”, it is highly rated as being better than the original in terms of performance, and it is still a must-listen for fans. The video DVD also includes a complete recording of the live performance with a good audience shot that captures John directly in front of him, so this is also a must-see.
