Description
Contains takes that are said to have been digitized from 2nd Gen’s tapes that appeared via the Internet from the Los Angeles performances on May 31st and June 1st, which are famous as the Yardbirds’ final stage sound sources. This is the original take on the source used in the 3-disc analog bootleg released around 1980. The May 31st performance take had 14 songs and approximately 80 minutes of recording, and the June 1st take had 9 songs and 49 minutes of recording. Jimmy Page’s guitar is recorded with a loud sound throughout the album, and in all songs, you can enjoy performances unique to this period, making full use of original sounds and playing techniques. The solo play in each song is all worth listening to, and you can listen to energetic long solos full of mood reminiscent of the Zeppelin era. The opening of both shows is Train Kept A Rollin’, where you can listen to a powerful performance from the beginning. Keith Relf’s delicious soft vocals are also clearly recorded, and the combination with Jimmy’s play that can be heard in each song is also a highlight. Heart Full Of Soul, Shapes Of Things, I’m A Man, Happenings Ten Years Time Ago, which are familiar as singles, Dazed And Confused, which was an important repertoire even during the Zeppelin era, White Summer, which incorporates sitar playing, and How May More Times. Full of listening spots such as Omoto Smokestack Lightning. Considering the era, the sound is quite listenable, and you can experience the valuable performance of the Yardbirds in their final period.
