Description

A luxurious package that fans will drool over will be released, containing all nine performances from the “Monsters of Rock” tour in May 2003, where Y&T toured the UK with Gary Moore and WHITESNAKE! The second half of this work, “Vol.2,” contains three performances, from the Sheffield performance on May 21, the seventh day of the tour, to the Newcastle performance on May 23, the final day of the tour with the three bands, all on three discs. Along with “Vol.1,” this special three-disc set will delight all Y&T enthusiasts! As mentioned in the commentary in this series, “Vol.1,” the 2003 “Monsters of Rock” series released three “MONSTERS OF ROCK TAPES” tapes in 2011, which contained all of Gary Moore’s performances, and became a big topic among enthusiasts. This time, the original DAT master, recorded on the same taper, is used in full, making its world debut. This “Vol.2” contains three performances from May 21st to 23rd, each recorded in excellent audience recordings unique to modern DAT masters. As with “Vol.1”, the high-quality recordings by the same taper will shine even more in the second half of this tour, allowing all listeners to fully enjoy the fun and charm of excellent live recordings. Please enjoy the 2003 Y&T live, which has become even more mature in the 21st century, with this work! The May 21st Sheffield performance recorded on Disc 1 contains plenty of the atmosphere of the venue, capturing the live performance with the ultimate realism and vividness. At the same time as the clear view with clean treble, it also has the rich sound thickness that is unique to DAT masters, allowing you to enjoy the ideal sound as an audience recording. Meniketti’s playing is captured with the clarity of not only the guitar but also the vocals, like a line source, and Leonard Hayes’ technical drums can be enjoyed perfectly. In particular, “Rescue Me” features the dynamic playing of both musicians, allowing you to fully enjoy the dramatic worldview of the song. The moving “I Believe In You” and the choking “Forever” are truly wonderful to listen to. Disc 2 contains the performance at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow on May 22nd. The excellent recording, which makes you think that the sound is the best out of all nine performances, is simply superb, and the performance, captured with such directness that it seems to be right in front of you, is at the highest level in terms of clarity and separation. From the intro that excites the listener, to the moment the first song “Mean Streak” is introduced, it is a great listening point. Meniketti’s thick and sharp guitar suddenly knocks the listener out. Furthermore, the sound you can hear here has not only a strong edge but also a moderately rounded texture, making it extremely easy to listen to. You won’t feel stressed even if you listen to the whole live performance with headphones. Even as the live performance progresses with “Eyes Of A Stranger” and “Dirty Girl,” the sound quality remains at its best, and the realism is exquisite, as if it was recorded by someone involved. In particular, “Rescue Me” contains the heat of the audience reacting to Meniketti’s play and the atmosphere of the venue in an excellent balance, allowing the listener to enjoy the live performance as if they were one of the audience. Any fan will listen to the entire 45 minutes at once, right up to the last song “Forever,” which is a mixture of emotion and excitement. On Disc 3, you can enjoy the performance at Newcastle’s “Telewest Arena” on May 23, the final day of this tour. The crystal clear sound and sharp, spreading realism are the main attractions of this day. It can be said that this audience recording is comparable to the previous two performances, with the vividness and ease of listening of the performance, and the realistic atmosphere of the live venue. The recording of this day is wonderful, as it allows you to realistically grasp Meniketti’s detailed playing and the expressions of each tone in scenes such as the intro and middle parts of “Rescue Me”, “Dirty Girl”, and “I Believe In You”, where you want to listen to “this part”. You can also enjoy the catchy “Summertime Girls” with its outstanding mood and groove. The last song, “Forever”, is a great performance suitable for the last tour. Don’t miss the message of gratitude that Meniketti and the members send after the show! This work also has a volume of about 45 minutes per show, and about 140 minutes in total for the three shows, vacuum-packing this special tour without leaving anything out! Along with the previous release “Vol.1,” which condensed the first and second six shows of the tour, this is a must-have item for fans of Y&T live shows. It will give listeners a virtual experience of going around to various places with the band on their special 2003 tour. As a Y&T live item in recent years, this series is undoubtedly the biggest surprise. This highly recommended package is now being released as a 3-disc set!
